Yesterday, The City of Minneapolis posted the Chief Operations Officer position, one of the highest-ranking in the City. Heather Johnston is currently Interim COO. You may remember Johnston from last spring’s public hearing, or from her firing Dir Green two weeks ago. 1/15🧵

Track Trachtenberg, a former Racial Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging staff and signatory of our original petition, described their experience working for the City in a Minn Post op-ed: https://t.co/dFFVF5ZiCY. 1/10 🧵
Opinion piece by Track Trachtenberg: I was the last employee left the first time Minneapolis dissolved the Division of Race & Equity. The treatment of Director Tyeastia Green is a continuation of unsurprising patterns. https://t.co/0Uq2wq4vEK
So Heather gets off clear, because that’s how the City’s ADH&R is designed, and applies for the job. We hope the COO Search Committee will remember our testimonies, Dir Green’s memo, and all other clear documentation of Heather’s racist, toxic, retaliatory behavior. 9/10 🧵
Watch Director Green's interview with @ByGeorgiaFort Also interviewed are one current and one former City employee, both testifiers against the appointment of Heather Johnston

“That audio, I believe, exonerates me,” Tyeastia Green said, saying it shows the council vote was aimed at publicly shifting blame for the expo to her: “I didn’t mess up my budget. That money is there.” https://t.co/3gLOQWDWnz
How many more staff does the City need to lose before we acknowledge the incompetence of Heather Johnston’s leadership in supporting and retaining these public servants? Heather’s racial and interpersonal ineptitude is not fit to lead this City. https://t.co/mLvL1HNyv2 15/15

Since bravely sharing their testimony and other feedback with the City, 3 City staff have been fired. Several others are currently being retaliated against. Countless others have left. 14/15
