My youngest daughter had her 1st day of public high school yesterday.

She said one of her teachers proudly stated "my daughter is trans and I am an LGBTQ ally, if your home is not a safe space and you want to talk to me about your situation, I am here for you".

Look, I really don't care who grown adults want to sleep with. Whatever. Gay, straight, trans, knock yourself out. But this crap has NO place in schools.

How insane is it that a school has become a place where we should all discuss our sexuality, who we are attracted to, and what kind of sex we want to have?

And why are we supposed to think it's fine and dandy if we talk to a random teacher about all of this deeply personal information instead of our immediate family/parents?

When did schools become places where we openly discuss sexual preference? Why is this even a thing? It should be grounds for immediate termination for all teachers.

I'm glad my daughter isn't confused. She immediately thought this was insane and came home and told me how crazy it was. Lots of other kids don't have that luxury.

The number of teachers giving me reasons why a child should not read out loud to a parent in a teacher conference with just them is baffling. Things like child humiliation, parent shock, etc. are being used as excuses.
