@maiab Another option: you can do ⌘+shift+4 like normal, but then just hold ^ when releasing the mouse and it'll also do the copy-to-clipboard behavior.
Cursed but I love it. The same energy as "we noticed Go devs started relying on machine-dependent map iteration order so we just randomized it always."
@benbridts@iann0036@shmick@awscloud same. generate 10 and keep only the ones that start with a leading 0. This way you always know which accounts are "real" just by looking at the ID and you teach your teams to properly string-encode account IDs
@Miss__Aligned 🤩 Awesome. Also I really want to shake the hand of the kind of person who finds a VHS 25 years later and goes "ah yes, I'm totally going to go to the trouble of digitizing the random commercials it just happened to capture during a real show and upload them to YouTube."
@Miss__Aligned Oh god, there are almost certainly a bunch of pogs *somewhere* in my parent's house... Mostly though: that multi-stage Saturn V pog tube?! 90s me (also now me?) is super jealous.
@ebroder “Denied” implies that there’s anything straightforward about the process. It’s more like “infinitely tied up in nonsensical bullshit so that we can claim to be honoring our own policy.” @Cigna 💩
@ebroder@JorgeO @zrail Agree that at 1/32 and beyond it was mostly a feeling. Only one of the 1/64 I felt like I just had it locked in and it wasn’t guessing. 1/32 maybe half and half felt like I didn’t have it at all vs felt it strongly.
@maiab@miradu Failure mode that happened to us once that I was not expecting: the power cord had worked its way out of the wall socket enough to not make contact anymore. All I can figure is cleaners swiffering under it bumped the cord enough over time.
@alcides@nicksloan@ezyang Aha, yeah the handshake is very ultrasonic, but maybe the button presses make it through as a DC offset? I'm not really enough of an EE to know. https://t.co/A8R8YPgwAd
@alcides@nicksloan@ezyang My recollection from 10+ years ago is that play just shorts the mic to ground, and there's an IC in the remote that signals something fancier over the mic line that is not audible for volume. I think the TS3+ would have to have support at an electrical level for this to work.
@nomadicnerd@metasj "Just let people do fun things on the internet" is not what you were arguing for. I will always love https://t.co/PmuXVRXmCw but it certainly doesn't have "practical applications."
@nomadicnerd@ebroder@gasnerpants Even if it's not a scam... what supposed part of "web3" is in play here? They could have done literally this entire whole same legal structure and model with just... taking payments normally and putting up a website for people to vote on what they do.
I think there's no need for AWS IAM users today. So I made a PoC to "prove" it. First here are the general use-cases for creds
* AWS SSO works great for humans 👍
* Roles work fine inside AWS 👍
* Federation works fine from other clouds 👍
* Raspberry Pi in your closet ❓

@thomasfuchs I ran into this recently and the "with ads" one shipped immediately, and you can just pay the spread to remove the ads after setting it up.
THIS IS SO EXCITING. I asked for a capability like this back in Jan 2020 (times were simpler back then) and it's almost kind of shipped!
Undocumented right now, but it works. 🎉 Now if only AWS sts:AssumeRoleWithWebIdentity could map arbitrary claims to session tags.
