NEW: Aaron Farinacci, the convicted murderer accused of intentionally starting the Old Trails Fire in Spokane, WA has admitted to starting 25 other fires since last July, including the Aubrey White Fire on July 6 and the Meenach Fire on July 8

Detectives had corroborated evidence indicating the man started at least four of the 25 fires he had described, according to court docs.

Former Gov Jay Inslee is still claiming it was climate change

Farinacci told a Spokane County sheriff’s detective that he spent two weeks planning the fire he started Saturday and that he chose the day because it was especially windy, hot and dry.

He also said he picked the grassy, tree-lined area near West Euclid and Old Trails roads because he knew the fire “was gonna get bad," but claimed he didn’t intend for it to grow as large as it did.

The detective reported the man told him he “feels fire is powerful (and) beautiful,” and that arson “is an easy crime to get away (with).” The man allegedly said he always carries marijuana or cigarettes to use as an “arson alibi” in case he is caught with a lighter or matches near one of his fires.

The four other fires the detectives found evidence the man had allegedly started included a July 6, 2025, blaze at Riverside State Park that burned more than 1,200 acres and prompted evacuation orders.

Farinacci also confessed to setting another fire two days later in West Spokane that forced residents of nearby homes and apartment complexes — including his own — to evacuate.

Prosecutors on Wednesday requested to charge the man with four more counts of first-degree arson and may seek additional charges once the “full extent" of his actions is known

In 2010, Farinacci killed his father after an argument about doing the dishes, then attempted to kill his mother and himself. He served 10 years before being released

In a stunning move against transparency, Gov. Bob Ferguson is directing state agencies to withhold key information from the public and media, according to public records requests. This aggressive clamping down of information adds to the disturbing pattern of far left leaders in our state working to keep the public in the dark.

In 2023, when Ferguson was Attorney General, he championed HB 1333 which would criminalize free speech and independent under the guise of "domestic violence." Fortunately, outrage from the public and Legislative Republicans defeated that horrible bill.

In 2025, Legislative Democrats voted to shut the public out of the budget process. The results of that budget included the largest tax increases in state history, $782 MILLION being cut out of Medicaid, and a spending spree (SB 5167).

In 2026, multiple journalists are being denied their press passes in our state capitol, while budget battles including the Income Tax are raging.

The public has the right to know how well their state government is performing. We need more transparency in government, not less.

BREAKING: Aaron F. Farinacci, of Spokane (37), has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree arson in connection with the Old Trails Fire as crews continue battling devastating wildfires that have destroyed hundreds of structures and forced tens of thousands of people to flee across the County.

Farinacci was arrested around 5 pm Monday & is being held on $1 million bail. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tues & has a previous felony manslaughter conviction in Arizona.

On Saturday at 10 am, a citizen who lives in the area reported seeing a man bending down along the side of the road near Euclid Road and Old Trails Road. The witness told deputies they saw the same man again while driving home and contacted the Airway Heights Police Department.

An Airway Heights police officer located the man about 1.5 miles from where the fire started, questioned him, collected his contact information, and released him at the time.

Detectives with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office spent the following days gathering evidence, building the case and working to locate the suspect before arresting Farinacci on Monday afternoon

The fires have destroyed about 700 structures, many of them homes, and forced as many as 65,000 people to evacuate.

While far left WA state leaders passed an Income Tax on everyone (SB 6346), they failed to investigate daycares with no children receiving taxpayer funds according to The Center Square. This is despite the issue being covered heavily in media.

It was reported earlier this year that Governor Ferguson's Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) had an un-auditable $416 MILLION of taxpayer funds, according to State Auditor Pat McCarthy (D). Taxpayer funded daycare fraud is being exposed nationwide.

And don't forget about the known fraud, waste, and abuse:

A squandered $15 BILLION surplus, the largest tax increases and spending spree in state history in back-to-back years (2025 & 2026), $1.17 BILLION in missing COVID money, $646 million of unemployment money being stolen by Nigerian scammers, $340 million going to non-citizens, and so much more.

Imagine what these BILLIONS alone could have paid for.

It's well past time for state government to be responsible and accountable with your money.

INCOME TAX BOMBSHELL: According to The Center Square, public records indicate Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown (D) and the WA Democrat Leaders have been working together on trying to bypass our state constitution and to make a state Income Tax a reality (SB 6346).

Legislative Republicans and the public have been fighting Income Tax proposals from the far left and special interests, tooth and nail, for years now. We repeatedly pointed out that a state Income Tax is unconstitutional, that Initiative 2111 signed by 450,000+ people & becoming law in 2024 further enshrined no state income taxes, and WA voters have rejected an Income Tax many times.

There is historic opposition to the Income Tax. At least 100,000+ people Signed-in CON against it, a state record, and many more contacted WA Democrat Legislators and Gov. Bob Ferguson to express their opposition. Legislative Republicans fought against the Income Tax in every step of the legislative process, from challenging its legality on the Senate floor to historic debates, and so much more.

Now, as widely predicted, legal challenges keep mounting against the Income Tax on constitutional grounds. Regular people, including Democrats, Republicans, and Independents do not want this.

Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown gets called out by the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board for drafting an obviously misleading ballot description on IP26-645, which would repeal the unconstitutional state income tax.

“Enter Mr. Brown, who has written a misleading description of the initiative that will appear on the ballot: “This measure would decrease funding for public K-12 education, higher education (including universities and community colleges), and human services (primarily healthcare).” Huh? The Democratic income tax hike won’t take effect until 2028. Pre-empting it and future increases can’t “decrease funding” that doesn’t exist.”

Just another validation of how utterly, disappointingly corrupt this office holder is.

Bob Ferguson signed HB 2266 into law, which would allow permanent supportive housing for drug addicted folks statewide with no treatment required, in ANY neighborhood in our state, just like in Seattle. Local jurisdictions cannot say no, while requiring local zoning regulations are required to have it. All Republicans voted NO.

Neighborhoods with these dangerous housing policies have experienced urban blight, small business exodus, and more vulnerable populations dying on the street. You and your family deserve better. Enough is enough.
