1 Pine English class have taken part in a Pen pal exchange with a school in Dublin. There was great excitement yesterday as they received their letters.
Well done to TY students Elise Kane, Maebh Staunton, Sophie Moore, Isabel Mathews, Darcy Cooney, Allie Flynn & Emily Hickey who completed a mural this week with the help of visiting artist Caroline Keane.

TY graduation today! There were lots of surprises such as hoodies, an ice cream van & cupcakes.They also received TY certificates in an online ceremony. Some students received their Bronze @GaisceAward & TY students of the year are Robyn Prendergast and Evan Farrelly.
Our TY groups had an excellent time Orienteering and working on their map reading skills around Edenderry. Using the MapRun6 app they navigated their way around various courses. Thanks to PJ Healy and the Irish Orienteering Association for their invaluable assistance.
Transition Year students had an excellent TY21 informative conference today about careers and future opportunities from the INEC through the @NAPD_IE .
Congratulations to Rebecca Hanan TY who was the school winner of Peters Problem which was run as part of Engineers week in conjunction with the IMTA.
Students had a series of problems to solve and Rebecca’s solution was judged to be the best by the judges.
Delighted to have GPO @DalyMairead deliver the foundation coaching course to over 50 TY students in @OaklandsCC today. Great interaction from all the students. Looking forward to seeing a few new coaches when we return 🙌
Our busy Transition Year cohort participated in a fantastic, informative and interactive workshop today called ‘TY Foundation Coaching Course’ with Mairead Carroll from Offaly GPO @Offaly_GAA . Well done all.
World Book day takes place this week and we love everything books and reading at Oaklands Community College. To celebrate we are having a fun competition for our students which will run through your English Classes. Have a look here and get snapping with a great book.
Well done to 65 TY students who participated in a very informative workshop from the Road Safety Authority this week. Lots of knowledge gained on how to be safer pedestrians, passengers, cyclists and budding drivers. Special thanks to Colin Mangan who delivered the workshop.
