Improving Nutrition, Empowering lives!
Richard Orengo visited Panthou in Aweil South where the IRC is providing Nutrition services to the vulnerable communities.
During the visit, he witnessed firsthand the impact of our nutrition program which aim to reduce malnutrition.
One Visit at a Time. The IRC #SouthSudan Country Director @RichardOrengo embarked on a filed visit to Wedweil #Refugee Settlement where the IRC implements programs in different sectors such as Health and Protection.
The visit aimed at assessing progress & engage with clients.
The IRC's Country Director Mr. Richard Orengo paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Stephen Kueth Gach the Relief & Rehabilitation Commission's Chairperson to discuss on matters of strategic collaboration and engagements between the IRC and the government - RRC.
The #ECHO#cashassistance supports vulnerable people like James Anei who depends on cash to do work to sustain his livelihood.
James says his disability hinders him from performing some of the physical activities that can only be done through cash.
Today the @IRC in partnership with UN Women & Open Capital Advisors through the Ministry of Gender, Child & Social Welfare launched the Women Entrepreneurial Opportunity Facility that will empower the #SouthSudanese business women to thrive in their businesses.
The impact of the flood from the past season humpared the livelihoods of most communities hence making them vulnerable as they can't afford most of the basic necessities.
The @ECHO#cashassistance is providing the needed support by the communities to make their lives better.

The #SudanCrisis has caused displacement and forced refugees to seek refuge in #SouthSudan.
Macca Adam was affected by the war, fled #Sudan and now lives in Wedweil. She delivered her baby at the facility run by the #IRC through the support from #USAID funding.
"I was a trader in Leer & everything was okay untill the conflict erupted in 2014, we left everything behind & fled to Ganyiel & had to start all over again. When I received the #ECHO cash assistant, I established my business that supports my family." Says Gatkuach Koang.
At Wedweil Refugee Settlement, the women are supported through skills development by the @IRC to enhance their capacities to earn a living amidst the hardship caused by the #SudanCrisis.

"When you are hungry , you can't study. My children stopped going to school when we lost everything to flooding.
My family was suffering, even getting medication was difficult. When i got cash assistance through @ECHO my situation improved." Says Maker Loi a client in Ganyiel.
The #SouthSudan Steering Committee held its inaugural meeting in #Juba bringing together key partners including MOH, #FCDO,#UNFPA#UNICEF, #WHO, #IRC, #IPPF & #RHASS.
The #WISH2 Multi-year SRHR project aims to strengthen SRHR initiatives to improve the well-being of communities.
Happening now is the launch of Enhancing Community Resilience & Local Governance Project (ECRP II) by the Ministry of Finance & Planning in partnership with the #IRC .
The project will be implemented in #AweilEast & #AweilSouth through the support from the #Worldbank

Maway was supported through the #ECHO#cashassistance as an #IDP & he bought a sewing machine for making clothes, purchased farm produce for resales to sustains his livelihood.
The #IRC, #ACF & #SavetheChildren implements the project in various locations in #SouthSudan.
Through the psychosocial support activities provided to the women by the @IRC, the have found hope & resilience amidst different challenges. As a result, they have built a strong network amongst themselves to overcome those barriers.

The stabilization Center in Ganyiel helps to admit the referred cases from the community outreach especially those with medical complications.
The IRC implements nutrition service delivery in both static and mobile outreaches to meet the community needs.
