This week, I announced Operation Stork Speed to expand options for safe, reliable, and nutritious infant formula for American Families. The @US_FDA will use all resources and authorities at its disposal to make sure infant formula products are safe and wholesome for the families and children who rely on them. Helping each family and child get off to the right start from birth is critical to our pursuit to Make America Healthy Again.
Today, @SecKennedy visited the Greater Mount Vernon Community Head Start in Gum Springs, VA. Nutrition services have been a hallmark of the Head Start program since its inception. HHS is excited to continue to build on this legacy. Healthy eating is critical for children’s brain development, immune health, and overall growth.
.@SecKennedy today visited Louisa County High School in Mineral, Virginia with @GovernorVA Youngkin. They engaged with students and staff to witness the success and importance of bell-to-bell cell-phone free education. SAMHSA has been working to improve our understanding of the impact of cell phones and social media use on young people and leveraging @HHSgov grant funding and technical assistance to help support state, community, and school efforts to improve mental health and wellbeing.
🚨 CDC is on the ground in TX, partnering with @TexasDSHS to respond to the #measles outbreak.
This partnership - known as an Epi-Aid- is a rapid response by CDC's Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) to tackle urgent public health issues like disease outbreaks. EIS officers provide local officials onsite support for 1-3 weeks, aiding in quick decision-making to control health threats. The local authority leads the investigation while collaborating with CDC experts.
“The measles outbreak in Texas is a call to action for all of us to reaffirm our commitment to public health. By working together -- parents, healthcare providers, community leaders, and government officials, we can prevent future outbreaks and protect the health of our nation. Under my leadership, HHS is and will always be committed to radical transparency to regain the public’s trust in its health agencies.” @SecKennedy@HHSGov
CDC continues to be in close communication with Texas health authorities about the #measles outbreak in West Texas. @HHSGov is providing technical assistance, laboratory support, vaccines, and therapeutic medication as needed to the Texas Department of State and Health Services and New Mexico Department of Health.

I so enjoyed my meeting with tribal leaders and elders from my advisory committee. Past administrations have treated @IHSgov as a red-headed stepchild. This administration will make Indian Country a priority.
No stone will be left unturned in our effort to end chronic disease. The health of our children is a higher calling for all of us. Watch my message to America and join me in this effort to Make America Healthy Again.
.@CDCgov has made significant improvements in our data, the way we communicate, and our ability to respond to the next threat. The team is working hard every day to protect health & improve lives and I’m proud to have been a part of this mission!
⏪ to March '24 when we visited the @CDCgov-supported University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka! Got to share the amazing work they are doing in maternal and child health, #HIV services, telemedicine, and more with the U.S. Congressional delegation. https://t.co/FdZpDSnXw7
⏪ to Feb '24 when CDC leaders visited Cambodia’s largest live bird market, a critical place to detect emerging viral threats in animals and prevent the spread to people. By building and strengthening #OneHealth systems, we can prevent & contain outbreaks at the source.

⏪ To last August when we visited the Puerto Rico Vector Control Unit to see how CDC and partners are using an integrated approach to mosquito management — including through local education efforts, mosquito monitoring, and insecticide-resistance testing.
Diseases know no borders. ⏪ to last year when @CDCgov opened a new regional office in Panama to collaboratively address global health threats in Central America & the Caribbean. Grateful to join diplomatic & health leaders for the official launch. More: https://t.co/tJYgGWB2f5
⏪ To when the @CDCGov & @HHSGov delegations met with our @AfricaCDC counterparts last year to discuss shared priorities and learn about their continental work. This partnership is 🔑 to our ability to detect + respond to health threats.
