UTU WA MTOTO
For 20 years, we have been working to promote and protect children's rights in #Tanzania, ensuring every child lives with dignity.

4,362 girls account for 68,640 secondary school dropouts in Tanzania (PO-RALG, 2025).

Neema* is back in school. Through our initiatives, we work with families, schools, and communities to help girls return to school safely.

Help us reach the next girl. Partner with us!

@Naayosuwa @FORWARDUK @LeverforChange Ouh wow! That's very encouraging.

[Naana Otoo-Oyortey @Naayosuwa]

@cdftz @FORWARDUK @LeverforChange Very memorable time. One participant said she came to the training with zero power and leaves with 80% power!

Ms. Fortunata Temu, CDF Board Chairperson and Founder & Executive Director of @MyLEGACYORGTZ, shared insights on integrity, hard work, and professionalism with TuWezeshe Akina Dada Cohort 3 fellows, inspiring them to reflect on their journeys as feminist leaders.

Giving girls a seat at the decision-making table starts with opening doors. Through @PlanTanzania’s #GirlsTakeOver at CDF, Zitta Claudio Kibuga stepped into the role of Executive Director.

This #IDG2026, let’s end child marriage and invest in girls’ rights.

Karibu tena, Tanzania, Naana na Aisha!💫✨
We’re delighted to welcome back Naana Otoo-Oyortey, Executive Director of FORWARD, whose support has been integral to CDF’s journey. Let's keep advancing young women’s leadership for a just world for all girls and women.

A little glimpse of our recent field visit in Mpwapwa, Dodoma.

From school visits and community conversations to plenty of moments in between, here’s what happens when the CDF team takes the work to the field.

Press play. You might even spot yourself. 😊😁

[CDF Tanzania @cdftz]

Meet the TuWezeshe Akina Dada Cohort 3 fellows!

We’re proud to welcome these young women to the TuWezeshe Sisterhood, where they’ll strengthen their leadership and advocacy skills and drive positive change in their communities.

Welcome to the Sisterhood!

[CDF Tanzania @cdftz]

30 girls from @Plan_tanzania's Girls Take Over, visited CDF to share their views, explore their leadership potential, and learn about advancing children’s rights.

They shared their aspirations to become child rights champions and change-makers in their communities.

[CDF Tanzania @cdftz]

We love visitors! And today, we had girls from @Plan_tanzana with us for Girls Take Over.
And yes, the girls are here to ask questions, learn what CDF actually does, and get a closer look at the work that happens behind the scenes in advancing children’s rights in Tanzania.💪

[Malala Fund @MalalaFund]

In Tanzania, adolescent girls in Mpwapwa District, Dodoma, know how to recognise violence, report it safely and protect themselves and their peers.

Our partner @cdftz brought girls from two secondary schools together for a two-day programme on personal safety, emotional intelligence and rights. For these girls, understanding their rights has become a first step in feeling more confident to seek help when they need it and advocate for positive change in and outside their schools.

Investing in girls’ rights makes whole communities safer. 💫

Mabadiliko huanza tunapokuchukua hatua pamoja!

[CDF Tanzania @cdftz]

Did you know that if all girls completed secondary education, child marriage could decrease by 66%? (UNICEF, 2022).

It is time to take action. Let us work together to ensure that every girl stays in school and is protected from child marriage.
