We are saddened by the news that Helen Mitchell, one of the #bellringers at #Chester Cathedral, died on Monday 23rd November after an illness. Helen rang 62 peals for the Guild and was a much loved and respected friend.

Congratulations to Mid Branch on winning the Chester Guild 8-bell #bellringing striking competition today at Barthomley. Wirral were in 2nd place, South in 3rd, and East came 4th.

The Guild has awarded grants to four #bellringing projects in Cheshire:
£1,982 to Cheadle for sound control, £3,552 to Chester Cathedral for a new bell, £7,500 to Mottram-in-Longdendale,£5,600 to Audlem, both for rehanging.
Also an initial £250 to the new CCCBR mobile belfry 2.0.
The bellringers of St. Margaret's, Dunham Massey, have arranged for the Lichfield Mobile Belfry to be at John Leigh Park in #Altrincham on Sunday 5th June.

Very sad news that Ian Taylor, former #bellringing Tower Captain at Middlewich (Cheshire) for many years and a former Chester Guild Peal Recorder, died yesterday 30th April 2022 in hospital after a long illness.
The Chester Guild AGM, via Zoom, is on Sunday 31st Oct at 2pm – and you must register to attend.

The ten bells of St George's #Stockport (29-3-12), rang out again on 14th October for a service to welcome our new Bishop of Stockport, Rt Rev Sam Corley.
Sam, himself an accomplished ringer, took part for some #bellringing Grandsire Caters - to the delight of the local band.
Miss Avice Doreen Edwards, a life member of the Guild and well known #bellringing character, died on 29th September 2021. She had celebrated her 99th birthday on September 25th.
The funeral is at St Mary’s Church, Sandbach, 11.30am 19th October 2021.

The new treble bell for #Chester Cathedral @ChesterCath will be dedicated at 10.30am on Sunday 10th Oct. The new bell is tuned to enable a lighter 10-bell set, making #bellringing on 10 bells more accessible for everyone.
