@eugyppius1 I’m am American from the South (May-Sept has every day 30+); AC is essential and we have single units that provide heat and AC. Our new was $10,000 8 years ago). Now we live in FR in an 18th c apartment 4m windows. Occasional heatwaves are bearable - monthly ones less so.

@MichaelAlbertMD I retired to France last year and am trying to get on a study here. 24 month program with endocrinologist, dietician, psychologist and educator working together. No cost for participants. French health insurance only covers GLP1 scripts from an endocrinologist

@AidenWi43754967 @midaqih I have found the opposite. I now live in France. The French have no tolerance for BS and will say that directly. No “niceties” or beating around the bush. Similarly the likely Far Right Prez candidate has told Trump to stay out of the upcoming election.

@RnaudBertrand In a French University essay, you present multiple distinct arguments (on one hand, on the other hand) to show your mastery in knowing all sides of a debate. Then you disassemble various approaches concluding with the strongest one.

@DFrankcom One bar I worked at paid the staff $3/hr (minimum wage for restaurant/bar workers was $2.13 so the owner thought he was generous to pay above the minimum. The “service charge” was an extra bit that went straight to the owner.
