@IlyasCigarette The plane incident was the catalyst for Shane realizing that hiding their relationship isn’t working anymore. I don’t see how a bus incident that leads to no injury would be able to reach that level of “omg I almost lost the love of my life. I can’t hide anymore.”

@transshollander THEN, when they were outed, there was no mention whatsoever of Russia or the consequences that he was so scared of in Heated Rivalry. Like did he get permanent residency? Did he get asylum? This issue was built up as a reason for them to stay hidden and then it just disappeared

@transshollander Also, in Heated Rivalry one of the biggest reasons why Ilya struggles with admitting to wanting a future with Shane is Russia. Then all of the sudden in The Long Game, he’s desperate to come out and Shane is the one holding them back. Did Russia disappear or what?

@Bsum14bb Yeah. He doesn’t have depression. But he absolutely has anxiety that goes unaddressed. People around him see him struggling see him have panic attacks and are like “yep that is totally normal.”

@whatH13 Another sad part is Shane ABSOLUTELY has an anxiety disorder of some kind that is completely dismissed and ignored. As someone who has a degree in psychology it pisses me off that his anxiety isn’t addressed at all. I hope it’ll be addressed in the next book,not holding my breath

@Veronicatrash13 Potentially the reason for this could be that J.J. did say some homophobic shit in the show. I think I remember him saying c***s***** at least once in the show. If I remember right he said nothing homophobic in the books.

@Aliriza1419615 @ffmelis Slight correction: Multiplication/Division is done first. Multiplication and division have the same level of precedence which means whichever comes first is done first. If division comes before multiplication in an equation, you divide first. Same with addition/subtraction.

@texasrozanov It’s also irritating when I read about having multiple days off in a row or a weekend off. Teams may have a day off here and there, but typically if they don’t have a game, they will have practice. And they usually almost always have at least one game over the weekend!

@texasrozanov I just read a fiction where they references Ilya being in Montreal for a “three game set” and I was like does this author think hockey is like baseball? I’ve seen a few fictions where they imply this. Reference a “series” in the middle of the regular season. That’s baseball.

@IlyasCigarette What I saw was disordered eating in the books. I do not have an ED. I’m guessing I recognized the difference due to my psychology degree. There is absolutely a difference and I think you are right. Many fail to understand that.

@IlyasCigarette Thank you for your lived experience insight. This makes a lot of sense and is what i saw when I read the books. Honestly, after I read the books I was confused because I had seen mentions of his ED on social media. After reading the books I was like “where’s the ED? +
