Improving the lives of others with quality software
Life is too short to be living in someone else's shadow.
Define who you are with your purpose and set achievable goals that align with your values and passions.
@ethereumdegen Oh nice. I might end up using them. I'm running a local postgres DB right now for development and using Vercel storage for staging. Haven't decided on the prod storage yet though.
Working on a new web app side project right now with react, next, prisma, and postgres as the stack. I've learned a lot from my career that's helped build this quickly but it's humbling that something like displaying a grid is still causing console errors 😂
Prioritize your life better.
If you start by prioritizing all the little things, you won't make room for the important events that occur with friends, family, or your partner.
Prioritize the important things first and the smaller stuff will fit in easily.
Bonus points: capture the monetary value of those tasks in regards to how much money they make you. Now focus on delegating the lowest value tasks first.
You'll find the whole process of delegation easier when you don't try to delegate your entire job away first 😂
So many people deal with stress in there lives but fail to identify the reason why.
Many think it's from being overworked, but it's likely from losing control of what you do.
It's time you get back your time and focus on what you value 👇
For the next two weeks, track your time in 15 min increments and capture what made you happy and what frustrated you.
It's likely you'll quickly see where you should be spending more of your time and what should be delegated away.
Were you faced with a problem you didn't expect or know how to resolve?
Next time, try to have some solutions to handling those problems. Not solutions to the problems themselves but to how you handle them. Learn to go around the problem and research the solution after.
Getting into the flow state can be a very difficult task.
If you've eliminated all distractions and know you're working something that excites you, spend time to analyze past flow states and identify what pulled you away.
I'm officially an @awscloud Certified Cloud Practitioner!!
With my transition to a Developer, I set up personal goals to obtain various certifications. The AWS CCP was my first target.
Next on the list is the AWS Developer certification 💪 🧠 🤓
As well as mishandling of how you react to them.
It's okay to be angry or sad, but how you react is what matters. Learn to process your emotions and don't let them process you.
Developing Emotional Intelligence is one of the best ways to accomplish this.
Want to build your audience? Don't just do cool shit and talk about it MOFO.
• Do cool shit
• Distill lessons from it
• Talk about the lessons you learned and advice you have from doing cool shit.
Checking out Webcontainer from StackBlitz - pretty cool, running Node.js in the browser.
I'm a bit confused though - is it really running in my browser? Or on a stackblitz's servers? seems to send+receive a lot of data over the network.
I don't think I've ever been happier!
I've been busy taking on more responsibilities of a Software Engineer but it's so rewarding and exciting.
For all those currently on the journey, don't give up! You can do this and there's people out there like me that can help!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! 💕 🥳 🥂
I hope you all have a great day, whether that be celebrating with a partner, loved ones, or with whatever makes you happy.
Just share some love today because there's somebody out there that loves you!
