On World Telecommunication and Information Society Day#(WTISD) , we at @CDOT_India are proud to partner with SRM University – AP(@SRMUAP) and Amaravati Quantum Valley#(AQV), in establishing the Quantum-Secure Communications Test Bed at Amaravati.
This collaboration between @CDOT_India, AQV and SRM University – AP is to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Quantum Communication & Security Solutions. The initiative marks a major advancement in India’s pursuit of quantum-secure communication systems and next-generation cyber defence technologies.

The upcoming Quantum Security Test Bed is supported by C-DOT’s research around quantum communications & security solutions combined with AI & next generation telecom networks will serve as a high-impact platform for research, testing, and innovation in quantum cryptography, secure communication networks, distributed quantum computing and cyber resilience.

Today is World Telecommunication and Information Society Day. It reminds us that secure communications, trusted digital infrastructure, and cyber resilience are critical to the future of nations. Following the launch of the Quantum Computing Reference Facilities on April 14, Amaravati Quantum Valley is taking another important step towards building a world-class quantum ecosystem driven by innovation, research, and indigenous technology development.

SRM University-AP, Amaravati, in partnership with C-DOT, the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, and Amaravati Quantum Valley, will establish a first-of-its-kind Quantum-Secure Communications Test Bed for communications and cyberspace. The facility will support research and testing of quantum communication hardware, photonic and optical systems, encryption technologies, secure network infrastructure, and next-generation cyber defence solutions.

This initiative reinforces our commitment to Make in India technologies, secure digital infrastructure, and positioning Amaravati as a leading hub for frontier technologies, advanced manufacturing, and deep-tech innovation.

Most importantly, it creates new opportunities for students, researchers, startups, and young innovators from Andhra Pradesh to participate in building the technologies that will shape the future of the world.

A decisive step towards securing India’s digital future is underway. Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SRM University-AP, Amaravati, emphasised that the university is actively shaping India’s quantum capabilities, while Dr Raj Kumar Upadhyay (@rkupadhyay), CEO, C-DOT, highlighted the importance of indigenous innovation in building secure digital ecosystems. It was an honour to be part of the release of the Report on Quantum-Safe Ecosystem in India by Hon’ble Minister for Science & Technology, Shri @DrJitendraSingh Ji.

Under the National Quantum Mission (#NQM), @@IndiaDST constituted a Task Force on the implementation of Quantum-Safe Ecosystem, which I had the privilege to chair. The Task Force brought together #experts from #academia, industry, regulators, and #government, and this report reflects the collective contributions and deep deliberations of all stakeholders.

Through this effort, we have assessed emerging quantum threats, outlined a national #roadmap, and provided #guidance for India’s transition to quantum-safe communications.

Key recommendations include:
1. Phased migration to Post-Quantum Cryptography (#PQC)
2. Deployment of Quantum Key Distribution (#QKD) for critical sectors
3. Establishment of testing, certification & standardization frameworks
4. Identification of priority sectors and transition timelines
