Just passed my over $10,000 exam, GIAC GWAPT Certified โ The journey was long, the late nights were real, and it was worth every bit. Huge thanks to @sisinerd who took a chance on me that Iโm worth this & to @SANSInstitute for the incredible partnership with @cybersafehq

For my next mentorship cohort, I will be selecting 50 mentees. 40 people will be selected through the formal application process. The remaining 10 people will be selected from CyBlack Conference and here on X.
From next month until September, I will be selecting two people each month to join the cohort.
Please note: Do not apply for my mentorship if you do not have access to a functioning laptop, as this is essential for full participation in the programme. All the best โจ

Women make up less than 25% of the cybersecurity workforce.
In offensive security and bug bounty hunting, that number drops even lower.
WiBBG was built to change that.

Today, I want to share how my mentee landed an opportunity to become the Chapter Lead of the very first official APIsec University Chapter in Nigeria through LinkedIn. While searching on LinkedIn for volunteer opportunities and project collaborations, my mentee came across someone in the offensive security space. After reviewing his profile, he reached out with a thoughtful message proposing a potential collaboration on a project.
Although he politely declined due to a busy schedule, my mentee didnโt stop there. He noticed the person was still responsive and followed up, this time asking if he knew of any volunteer opportunities or Cybersecurity communities he could recommend, and if heโd be open to referring him. That follow-up made the difference.
He shared a link to the APIsec website and encouraged my mentee to apply for the Ambassador Program.
Fast forward, my mentee is now the Chapter Lead of the very first official APIsec University Chapter in Nigeria.
โYou only miss the shots you donโt take.โ LinkedIn is more than a digital resume๐ช
Congratulations @RootHawk_ ๐๐๐๐

Letโs talk about what needs to change.

โ Kai West was 25, British, and running the dark web's biggest stolen data marketplace under the name IntelBroker
โ His victim list reads like a who's who. Apple. AMD. Cisco. Nokia. General Electric. Europol. The US Pentagon.
โ And a database containing the personal information of every member of the US Congress.
โ He sold everything in Monero only. Untraceable by design. For 2 years nobody could touch him.
โ Then in January 2023 an FBI agent reached out to buy $250 worth of stolen data and talked him into accepting Bitcoin just this once
โ That $250 went into a wallet tied to his real Coinbase account. Registered with his actual UK driver's license. His real name and his real face.
โ The FBI spent the next 2 years quietly building the case. Matching his YouTube watch history to posts on his hacker forum. Piecing everything together.
โ He even had a fake LinkedIn saying he worked at the UK equivalent of the FBI. They publicly said they had never heard of him.
โ In January 2025 he stepped down from running the forum. Said he was "too busy."
โ He was arrested in France 3 weeks later.
โ $25 million in damage. 40+ companies. 2 years of running the biggest stolen data operation on the dark web.
Brought down by $250 and one moment of trusting the wrong coin.
The most untraceable hacker on the internet forgot that Coinbase needs your ID.
Itโs just four months until applications open for my next mentorship cohort. Itโs an opportunity to gain clarity and direction in your Cybersecurity journey. If youโre interested, watch this space โจ

Iโve worked in offensive security for years, including at big firms, and most times Iโm the only woman in the room.
Even across major HackerOne and Bugcrowd live hacking events, women are barely represented.
WiBBG was built to change that. Come hunt with us @WiBBGlobal
