@samkinpai666 My initial comment was a little misguided I agree but aggressive responses to people who genuinely hope Korea can improve for the people living there, is not at all helpful
@samkinpai666 It came from a place of humanity where I felt comforted that young people were being protected after I saw first hand times that they did not. Telling me to piss off when Iโve spent most of my 20s here, lived through all of Covid here, married a Korean and am building a life here
@djo1614283@NJZBUBBLEGUM Itaewon Halloween has been a staple part of youth culture with foreigners, young Koreans and tourists traveling in to celebrate en masse. While yes, unofficial, it is not new or unexpected by any means. It is the responsibility of a government to protect people and they did not.
@tpshfl@NJZBUBBLEGUM True, and we wonโt go into why that government failed in more ways than one. But itโs those in powerโs position to protect people.
@bonheeya Iโve admitted I let my emotions get the better of me in that comment. But itโs true that the government failed the people in Itaewon and I am still affected every day. I made a blanket statement but my message remains that crowd control has and will always matter.
@kopchangi@NJZBUBBLEGUM I agree. It is all political and I do sometimes forget that. I still suffer from what happened in Itaewon and I guess I felt almost comforted for a moment that young people were being protected when we saw what happened when they werenโt.
@samkinpai666 Iโm not? And the way youโre talking to me as if I wasnโt affected by what happened is wild. It is not a crime to bring up a government failure when they show the capacity to succeed.
@tpshfl@NJZBUBBLEGUM Iโm very aware. I was in Itaewon at Halloween. Yes, I admit my original statement wasnโt what entirely what I meant to say but my point remains that itโs true the government have and had all the resources to protect people but did not. You donโt have to verbally abuse me for that
@kopchangi@NJZBUBBLEGUM Yes, thus my original statement wasnโt completely accurate. I meant more that it took a tragedy like that for it to be taken more seriously.
@djo1614283@NJZBUBBLEGUM Oop and straight in with the slur. Okay. Halloween in Itaewon IS an event, unofficial or not, and the government failed those people and traumatized their families and others that were there that night.
Your last statement makes no sense???
@daradada714914@NJZBUBBLEGUM I literally donโt have an โidolโ I just felt that it was sad that all these measures are being taken when they werenโt at a time people needed it most.
@kopchangi@NJZBUBBLEGUM Which is a form a crowd control or lack thereof. Planning and issue identification is a key part of crowd control. But I will admit my original statement was worded poorly.
