Allow me to explain another scam.

Progressive lawmakers have proliferated speed cameras throughout the city. They’re everywhere now.

At the same time, they’ve drastically lowered speed limits to such a degree that even perfectly safe and reasonable speeds on open thoroughfares and service roads now trigger a violation.

They even have speed cameras on some highway off-ramps specifically to trap drivers as they’re slowing from highway speeds.

Yes, this is about ticket revenue. But it’s not JUST about ticket revenue.

As their ratchet tightens and all these new camera ‘violations’ inevitably rack up, progressive tyrants like Gounardes here get to disingenuously proclaim that we have a ‘stunning’ crisis of ‘maniac reckless drivers’ because the speed cameras say so.

Then the progressives get to do what they REALLY want, which is exert even more control over the people they hate — in this case, regular New Yorkers who dare to own cars.

See, he has a bill which would require any driver who gets six camera tickets a YEAR to have their vehicle modified with an electronic speed limiter. This limiter would prevent your car from moving faster than 5mph over the local speed limit.

Understand the scam? They want to lower the speed limit to the point that it’s very easy to break, put cameras everywhere to catch you, THEN ruin your car with a modification to make driving your own car miserable and dangerous.

Make no mistake — they want this for EVERY car. That’s the actual goal.

The ultimate irony here is that we DO actually have a major problem with reckless drivers now. But it’s not the people getting caught by a camera going 28 in a 20, like Gounardes here wants you to believe.

It’s the lunatics weaving between highway traffic going 110 on the Grand Central. They’re everywhere. And these cameras do NOTHING to stop them. In fact, progressive ‘de-policing’ directives to reduce traffic stops and police pursuits over the last few years actually created and enabled the problem. And it’s getting worse.

But that’s how progressive anarcho-tyranny works. Regular people just trying to exist are demonized by ideologues and get the book thrown at them, while actual criminals are allowed free rein. You’ll end up with a speed limiter on your car because you did six miles over in a 15 zone, while the criminal in a white Altima and no plates makes TikTok videos doing 106 on the Van Wyck because cops aren’t allowed to pursue anymore.

This is the world progressives have built for us in New York. Then they wonder why the rest of the country looked at them and decided to go in the exact opposite direction.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has made Manhattan more dangerous, as Bragg releases violent repeat offenders back on the streets. Even in California, voters ultimately removed the radicals who were ruining their cities. But in New York, neither Moderate Democrats or Republicans have a candidate to stop him. My wife Nancy was so disturbed by this she offered to jump in the race herself- to run a relentless campaign against someone who has disgraced all New Yorkers in fear of violence. Nancy is an attorney and ran against Letitia James for Attorney General on the Reform Party line. She will be relentless in her campaign if someone else doesn’t jump in. Time is ticking! We will not allow Bragg to be elected without a fight!

Here's the hard truth about the Manhattan DA race.

I'm confident the GOP will present a competent candidate. This race will largely be a question of money.

We need major donors like Bill Ackman and others who were active in the presidential race and have a stake in NYC to step up and treat the Manhattan DA contest like the existential situation it is. It's really that simple.

When Bragg was elected the first time, we ran Tom Kenniff, a great candidate and a genuinely good person who is now defending Daniel Penny against Bragg's political prosecution. Thing is, nobody knew who he was because his campaign had virtually no money. So Bragg won overwhelmingly.

We've already seen deep blue cities like Los Angeles fire their progressive DA. We can do the same here with the right candidate, a competent campaign, and a TON of money.

Don't plan on a moderate Democrat stepping up to primary him either. The Democrat party in New York is radical and vicious towards moderates and in absolutely no mood to accommodate anyone who'd challenge Bragg or his agenda -- which continues to be the crown jewel of progressivism, despite the chaos and despair it's caused. The solution will have to come from the GOP this time.

So let's see what happens.

People need to understand something important. Nothing — NOTHING — will convince progressives to reconsider their criminal justice reforms which repeatedly enable horrors like this.

No amount of carnage and chaos by individuals who should be in jail will move them one inch towards common sense. Because they don’t care.

They know their policies will increase crime and yes, even kill people. That’s all baked into the cake already. Some will even admit it openly. They don’t care because according to their ideology, these crimes are the price society must pay for social ‘justice’. It’s a collective penance and retribution against civilization on behalf of the ‘marginalized’ for alleged historical mistreatment. In their construction, public safety is a bourgeois demand of the privileged, not a basic expectation for civil society.

And since progressives believe their ideology to be wholly infallible, there is nothing which will shock them out of these beliefs, even mass murder. It will all get rationalized and ignored with a shrug and some boilerplate pablum about ‘tragedy’ or ‘violence’.

There is no solution to the progressive problem other than total destruction of their political power. Marginalize them and ignore them and remove them from our institutions and never take them seriously again. Thats it.

Ramon Rivera, 51, has been arrested eight times in New York City in the past year, including seven felonies and one misdemeanor, records show. He also has been arrested in Ohio and Florida.

He was released from Department of Corrections custody on Oct. 17 for time served on burglary and assault charges, according to city records. At the time of Monday's stabbings, Rivera was on bail in an open case of grand larceny, accused of taking property from a Manhattan store later on Oct. 17, the day of his release.

Rivera also was arrested three times in Hudson County, New Jersey in January and indicted by a grand jury all three times, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. The charges in those cases included criminal mischief, theft and burglary, according to the indictments.

A spokesperson for the prosecutor's office in Hudson County said he was released on pre-trial monitoring, based on the charges and related guidelines from the Criminal Justice Reform Act. Bench warrants were issued for his failure to appear post-indictment.

Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine (@MarkLevineNYC) has not one, but two personal chauffeurs on his payroll, costing taxpayers a whopping $137,393.21 this year. And that's not even counting the cost of his limo, gas, tolls, etc. All this while Manhattan boasts 151 subway stations (6.61 per square mile) and 3,700 bus stops (162 per square mile).
