I have signed an @RCGP joint letter calling on @wesstreeting to employ enough GPs to give patients the care they deserve. The more GPs in England sign up to the campaign the more likely he will listen https://t.co/lAIf3uMyYd

Today we planted a memorial tree in the grounds of BMA House, to honour the memory of doctors and healthcare professionals who've died by suicide.
The planting is part of the National Memorial Tree Campaign from @DoctorsDistress@amateuradam.
The BMA will continue to advocate for the medical students, doctors and colleagues who currently suffer in silence. #WorldMentalHealthDay
Scotland has detected no cases of cervical cancer in women born between 1988 and 1996 who were fully vaccinated against HPV between the ages of 12 and 13. https://t.co/rsyCur5zbM
I am pleased to announce that the WHO has recommended the R21/Matrix-M™️ Malaria vaccine. The efforts of @SerumInstIndia and @UniOfOxford have come to fruition. This will save thousands of lives, and bridge the gap between the demand and supply of vaccines against Malaria.
I started my career as a #malaria researcher, and I longed for the day that we would have an effective vaccine against this ancient and terrible disease.
Now, @WHO recommends the use of two vaccines, RTS,S and R21, for children living in malaria endemic areas.
Every 2 minutes a child dies from malaria. Vaccines are among the key tools to save more children from deadly mosquito bites.

The normalization of attacks on those who risk everything to assist others is unconscionable.
On #WorldHumanitarianDay, I stand in solidarity with colleagues, partners, and friends around the world, as we honor the memory of those we’ve lost and demand change. #ActForHumanity
Today, across the world, we stand in solidarity with civilians caught in crises and humanitarians risking their lives to serve them.

Liverpool, Walthamstow, Oxford, Bristol - beautiful scenes from up and down the country of communities coming together in the face of hatred this evening.
THIS is who we are, THIS is what we should be striving for.

This is the tenth round of junior #DoctorsStrike action in England and we will continue until we receive a credible offer on the table.

The situation in the UK is deeply concerning. Health is declining and health inequalities are widening. This is not the case with other European countries. The UK's rankings have gone down since 2014. What a tragic waste of lives @ucl@bmj_latest
