It's mind-blowing to me that we still don't really understand how _friction_ works. Glad to see that @nyutandon students are figuring it out! Can't wait to learn the deets. https://t.co/D1zDLQJ4QZ
On the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, NYU's chief sustainability officer @cecilscheib breaks down the misleading term "100-year flood." Hint: it doesn't mean that a Sandy-like "superstorm" can only come every hundred years: https://t.co/CISbhhnVvD https://t.co/RhR7Rjp1zZ
This great impromptu teaser video for one of the coolest sustainability initiatives I've heard of in a while is taking off with thousands of likes in a week. very cute. and refreshing.

Only 3 podcasts are "must listen *every* week" for me, and @faqnyc is one of them. So happy to be part of @THECITYNY reporting on the 10yr Sandy anniversary and my work with @UrbanGreen making buildings more resilient. https://t.co/LaZhhBbFmF
"When you roll the dice, you could roll snake eyes five times in a row. And that could happen for hurricanes too." —NYU's @cecilscheib on the misleading term "100-year flood" and the likelihood of another #Sandy: https://t.co/CISbhhFwnb
This went way more viral on IG and TikTok with over 10,000 likes - on Twitter, just a few dozen likes, which says it all about where students are on SM. Still funny even on Twitter though.
By the year 2040, NYU will be climate neutral. What will that look like on campus? In April 2023, we'll be exploring that question during 2040 Now—a university-wide initiative to envision and create a sustainable future. 🌎 https://t.co/n2VXYHEafv
Recognize scenes like this? If you live in NYC you do. We're now at 2.4 million packages delivered here daily, thanks to the explosion in e-commerce.
It's blocking streets, sidewalks, bike lanes & bus stops. And it's only getting worse.
Here's our plan to fix this.🧵
🌍NYC Sustainability Update🌎
Today the Department released proposed rule changes to Local Law 97 which will provide additional clarity to property owners and industry professionals on how to comply with the law’s regulations 🌱💚🏙️
"NYU tackles ‘swell in rat population’ with new trash bins" https://t.co/eH4LRAUA5N via @nyunews - great reporting from @aabbyywilson and @arnavbinaykia. Thanks @UnionSquareNY for your partnership with @NYUgreen!
New Yorkers are tired of living with mountains of trash on the sidewalk. Yesterday I joined @nyuniversity and @UnionSquareNY to unveil a containerized waste pilot on 15th Street, funded through the @NYCSanitation Clean Curbs pilot that we fought for.
If containerized trash doesn't make you do jazz hands, you're not doing it right.
What a couple of snazzy guys I got to stand with today!
