CED is a Pakistan-based alliance of registered CSOs seeking to strengthen electoral democracy and representative governance as a means of social development.
"People with disabilities not only face structural barriers but also contend with social attitudes dictating what's best for them. For instance, during elections, they're often told to stay home, questioning their need to participate. Casting a vote is their right, so we must shield them from such attitudes and facilitate them in exercising their right to vote."

Beyond physical barriers, individuals with disabilities face attitudinal obstacles, such as pity, when attempting to participate in the voting process. Let's refrain from pitying voters with disabilities or dictating what is best for them. Instead, let's listen to their voices and facilitate their right to vote on February 8, 2024.

#ElectionUpdates! Election Act 2017, Section 206 mandates political parties to allocate at least 5% of their tickets to women candidates. However, it’s disheartening to note that many parties lag behind in giving women their rightful share.
Let’s advocate for equal representation and hold our political leadership accountable!
