On International Women’s Day, let’s shed light on a critical issue: gender disparity in disability recognition. As of July 21, 2023, NADRA issued a staggering 592,072 disability-insignia CNICs nationwide, categorizing disabilities into four major types: blindness, speech and hearing impairment, mental health conditions, and physical impairments.

Here’s the stark reality:
Men with disabilities: Received 420,715 CNICs.
Women with disabilities: Received only 171,357 CNICs.
This reveals a disparity of 249,358 fewer CNICs issued to females with disabilities across the nation, resulting in a substantial percentage difference of 42.12%.
