Should military veterans be classified as “High-Risk” for prostate cancer screening? I argue yes, based on the results of our meta-analysis:
✅ military members are exposed to multiple known carcinogens stateside and while deployed
✅ significant associations confirmed for exposures to Agent Orange and aromatic hydrocarbons
✅ other exposures thought/shown to contribute - PFAS, BPA, Cadmium, depleted uranium, burn pits, and water on Camp Lejune from 1950s-1985

📝 #BladderCancer Risks for military veterans: key findings
A new systematic review and meta-analysis highlights increased bladder cancer risk among U.S. veterans, with significant associations to exposures such as:
- Agent Orange
- Depleted Uranium
- Contaminated Drinking Water
Enhanced clinical management and preventive measures are essential for veterans, focusing on targeted screening and healthcare strategies. Further research is crucial to understand specific carcinogens and improve veteran healthcare outcomes. #ReadNow > https://t.co/GnbgLN2uBw @GalSaffatiMD@shanekronos
