The right-wing love to talk about the "dangers" of exposing kids to trans people or same-sex couples.
I'm living proof that if you introduce your kids to the gay rights agenda, the danger is they might grow up to be governor.
scrolling social media happily consuming the cat tweets i've trained the algo to serve me but getting interrupted by the occasional non-cat tweet that says stuff like: "the gov is trying to use AI to build killbots and mass surveil you"
Probably near impossible to find even a single specialty department at Kelsey-Seybold, MD Anderson, or Houston Methodist which doesn't have doctors on H1-B visas. This fact is strongly correlative with Houston having one of the finest hospital systems in the world. -OS
Some additional hospitals/systems/medical schools hit by this order:
-University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
-The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston
-The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston
-Dell Medical School
-UTRGV School of Medicine
This is government by temper tantrum.
Governor Abbott is continuing his campaign to make Texas hostile to anyone who doesn’t look like him. Combined with the racist anti-alien land law Republicans passed this session, the message is clear: if you’re an immigrant who followed every rule, Texas Republicans still don’t want you here.
Our universities and hospitals will lose world-class talent to states that aren’t run by xenophobes while Abbott chases headlines from the nativist fringe.

Texas universities hire the best academic and medical staff in the world. International workers are hired when they have unique skills. This short-sighted directive is sure to harm Texas universities and the Texas economy.
This ban covers the MD Anderson Cancer Center, arguably the best cancer hospital in the world.
They hire top-notch doctors, specialists, and researchers using H-1B visas every year.
Bowing to the mob here means hurting cancer patients in Texas and across America. Crazy.

#Peace is unarmed and disarming. It is not deterrence, but fraternity; it is not an ultimatum, but dialogue. Peace will not come as the result of victories over the enemy, but as the fruit of sowing justice and courageous forgiveness.
