Removing friction is how rich people end up losing agency and human IQ
It starts with Uber-everywhere, grocery delivery, all-inclusive holidays, then private driver, chef, assistant etc… without noticing you’re also removing exposure to reality
I see this in London with young ambitious professionals aka HENRYs (High Earners Not Rich Yet) trying to remove every tiny friction from life so they can focus on work + gym + sleep + money, while forgetting that a lot of the “inefficient” shit they’re deleting (cooking, walking somewhere, random talks etc) is also just… being a human in your 20s/30s
The thing is you’re not only saving time, you’re removing thousands of tiny reps of dealing with the world. Finding the place, fixing the booking, working out what to do when the train gets cancelled, asking someone for help, improvising because the plan is fucked. None of these makes you smarter on its own, but remove basically all of them for 10 years and I’d be surprised if it has zero effect. You can become incredibly high-agency at work while weirdly low-agency at normal life
It’s why so many high-agency rich people are deliberately paying to add friction back into their lives (difficult travel, long treks, sailing, marathons, remote places, silent retreats, climbing mountains, etc). They’ve understood that once comfort is abundant, difficulty becomes scarce. The luxury good eventually becomes optional hardship. The distinction is agency. Being forced to walk 10km because your car broke down sucks. Choosing to hike 20km in Patagonia feels meaningful
The way I think about it personally is just aggressively remove boring / repetitive friction, while keeping a decent amount of unpredictable friction. I’ll happily pay more for the direct flight, live centrally to kill a commute, outsource cleaning/admin, take the Uber if it genuinely saves 40 mins. A 15-min annoyance x300 a year is actually expensive. There is absolutely no hidden life lesson in doing your laundry for the 800th time or spending 2h getting somewhere you could reach in 30 mins
Think the objective of wealth shouldn’t be zero friction, but simply choosing your friction. Basically removing all the boring shit so you can expose yourself to more of the interesting stuff
I fear the hottest relationship dynamic is when a woman acts like a chaotic little creature and the man finds it genuinely hilarious instead of spiritually exhausting. Like, he’s not trying to tame her he’s just entertained, deeply fond, and occasionally wondering what the hell is going on 😭
My favorite line from Atomic Habits has been living in my head rent-free:
“It doesn’t make sense to continue wanting something if you’re not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don’t want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment.”
The most common cause of average performance is the arrogance of thinking that you don't need to be full-time, fully committed, fully ready to make sacrifices, to start getting competitive on the world stage.
The world is full of people who started earlier, are smarter, more talented, better than you, with better work ethic and with more financial and social resources, who failed nevertheless.
To get lucky, and stay lucky, is actually applied humility.
Keep your problems smaller than your life. A flat tire is a flat tire. A bad meeting is a bad meeting. A canceled flight is just an extra two hours. These things become catastrophes when you let them. But they stay manageable when you remember the depth of your real life- the people you love, the work you care about, the beautiful years still ahead. Zoom out. Fit your reaction to the size of the problem.
abuse your unfair advantage everywhere
everyone has it
> if you live in your mom's basement w no responsibilities, work 12 hr days
> if your know a guy who knows a guy, call that guy
> if your parents paid for ur college, invest your time in up-skilling urself
you were not raised to be a bum
life isnt an even playing field
all the "winners" are not playing fair
to catch up you have to identify your unfair advantage
and abuse it
Your guardian angel has been protecting you your whole life.
One of the great misunderstandings of spiritual life is imagining higher beings as invisible humans —> speaking words, giving instructions, pushing events like ghostly hands.
They don't.
They act through you.
Dr Steiner describes a childhood experience when a heavy object was about to kill him.
He heard a single word:
"Move!"
But he insists no angel spoke it.
Spiritual beings don't use English, German, or any earthly language.
They impress a gesture into the human organism — and the mind translates that gesture into language.
The message wasn't spoken.
It was interpreted.
The spiritual world communicates through impulses, images, movements, and subtle shifts within our own being.
We're always the translator.
Steiner recounts another childhood event:
A wagon wheel was about to crush him, yet the boys nearby suddenly became unable to lift the stopper that would've caused the accident.
Their will was mysteriously inhibited.
Not by force.
By guidance.
The guardian being didn't intervene externally — it worked through the wills of others, quietly redirecting destiny without anyone noticing.
How many moments in your own life were like this?
The delayed train.
The sudden urge to take another road.
The unexpected conversation that changed everything.
We call them coincidences.
Steiner calls them the hidden work of guardian beings.
Dreams can become vehicles for these warnings.
A man dreams he will be shot and stays home.
Later, a stray bullet passes directly through the chair where he would have been sitting.
The dream was the organism perceiving a spiritual reality before the intellect could understand it.
Your head is not your primary organ of spiritual perception.
Your organs are.
The liver, lungs, heart, stomach — these receive spiritual impressions first.
Only afterward does the brain translate them into thoughts, emotions, words, or images.
This is why guidance often arrives as a feeling before it becomes an idea:
A strange unease.
An inexplicable certainty.
A sudden impulse.
Children perceive this naturally because their bodies are still soft, un-hardened by years of abstract thinking.
Adults lose it because we've become too noisy inside to notice.
Steiner warns against superstition and passive mediumship.
He criticizes mediums for mistaking subconscious impressions for communication from the dead.
True spiritual knowledge requires disciplined thinking — not less reason, but better reason.
The spiritual world is always active, but rarely works from the outside.
It works through your own inner life.
Guardian angels don’t override freedom — they shape possibilities through impulses, dreams, intuitions, and the subtle language of the human organism.
The question is whether you’ve become quiet enough to recognize its translation.
Was talking to my mom today about how organ foods (beef liver, beef heart, beef blood, chicken liver, etc u name it) are becoming all the health rage in the west nowadays. She goes:
“Why these white people eating like Chinese villagers? Next thing you know they’ll be eating cats and dogs too.”
There's a conversation in the Bible where Satan admits there are some people he can't touch... and almost nobody talks about it.
Most people read the book of Job and focus on everything he lost. But I was reading Job 1, and God showed me something that completely shifted my perspective. Before Job's wealth, before the attacks, before the tragedy... God first described Job's character. The Bible says Job was "blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil." That wasn't just an introduction it was Heaven's testimony about him before anything else happened.
Then the scene changes from earth to heaven. The angels present themselves before the Lord, and Satan shows up. God asks him, "Where have you come from?" Satan replies that he has been roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth. In other words, he was searching. Then God asks Satan one question: "Have you considered my servant Job?" What Satan says next stopped me in my tracks. Satan replies, "Have You not put a hedge around him, his household, and everything he has?" Think about that. The enemy himself acknowledged that there was a boundary around Job that he could not cross without God's permission.
What qualified Job for that kind of covering? It wasn't his money. It wasn't his influence. It wasn't his success. The Bible says he was blameless, upright, feared God, and shunned evil. Before Heaven celebrated his blessings, Heaven testified about his character.
I wonder how many of us spend more time praying for God's protection than pursuing the kind of life that attracts His covering. Job reminds us that reverence for God, integrity, and obedience matter. Character isn't just about reputation it has spiritual consequences.
The final boss of intelligence is knowing to use it only when it's required. The rest of the time, play like a child, dumb, fun, and completely unburdened. Or ur intelligence will be the biggest burden you'll carry forever.
a woman who understands that physical self-care is spiritual self-care will inevitably flourish into the most energetically gorgeous version of herself.
tips: washing your hair clears the energy trapped in your crown chakra and restores flow of thought. a salt-sprinkled bath purifies unwanted densities absorbed from others and replenishes your aura. immersing your face in cold water stimulates the third eye region and cuts through brain fog. painting your nails is spiritually protective by nature and can ward off spirits!
