@DerelictYork @johnsweeneyroar It gets better: an hour in to the reunion, Dad's cousin sat back and marveled, 'Your sisters will never believe you're alive!'

He and his little sister were reunited a few days later. She's 91 now.

(Dad died 2 years later and his cousin not long after that.)

@johnsweeneyroar My Ukrainian dad was taken by Nazis in 1941 & lost all contact with family. In 2006 we returned (from UK) to his village and amazingly found his cousin.
Despite the shock, she was adamant that someone go and milk the cow right away because the 'English drink tea with milk'! 🇺🇦🤣

Today, #Putin launched 8 missiles at #Vinnytsya, where my dad's sister still lives.

I haven't managed to contact her.

I'm so glad my dad's not here to see this happening...again.

67 years later he discovered his little sister was still alive. They were reunited at #Lviv Railway station, where this week there has been footage of thousands fleeing another invasion of his beautiful country.

He was taken by the Nazis and heeded his father's pleas never to return, for all their sakes.

Oh, dear. I used to study these ads with my GCSE media studies students. At 14 they understood the humour & psychology behind the marketing - & why it was successful. Then again, they were active consumers, able to analyse and read texts critically without simply being offended.

Being a parent does not magically bestow on a person empathy, compassion and knowledge. Not being a parent certainly doesn't preclude these traits.
Please consider rewording your campaign so that it's more inclusive. The families that you seek to help will only benefit. 5/5

Many of the greatest teachers I know have no children. One of the few NICU nurses who showed genuine empathy and who I trusted implicitly with my baby also had no children.
Conversely, many of the people I've met who seem least capable of empathy and compassion are parents. 4/5
