I think all these new designs are cost cutting measures to compete in the market while still giving salaries in Germany.
Old designs had curves, sharp lines etc which probably made production exponentially more expensive.

Good engineers still think about tradeoffs and understand the impact and content of their changes.
Sounds like these engineers were senior by age, not by skill or capability.
Every morning, the moment my eyes open, I wake up to 40 unread Slack messages that effectively say:
“If you don’t fix this in the next 5 minutes, the world will implode and the app will cease to exist.”
Apple's chip department is doing something extraordinary and they must have some good engineers there.
Many years after the M series launch, nothing comes remotely close.
Conducted 2 technical interviews today. Reminded me how serious of a task this is.
You get to decide potentially the next n number of years the person you are interviewing within the span of 30 minutes or so.
I have nothing but hate towards those who conduct interviews without a care asking dumb leetcode hard questions they themselves couldn’t solve if the shoe was on the other foot.
@wordgrammer The training data is average. You can never write down the perfect combination of information into a piece of paper for the LLM to be trained on.
It is the best intern you ever got.
50% of juniors I have seen in my career probably should not be software developers.
They were deeply incurious, no interest in tech nor to understand how things work. Software development makes you use and train your mind for your whole career. That's a brutal thing to do casually. Doing something like that without any real interest is bad for your own life.
Other brands would have a chance if they didn't have the full "stealership" experience.
The worst part about buying a car is having to talk to the "finance manager" in a dealership. Scammers.
Tech interviews are so messed up right now. Commonplace cheating via interview coder, ridiculous leetcode questions, just throwing keywords with system design, companies pivoting to asking assembly and c++ instead, allowing claude during interviews 😪
tech interview have always been broken. I have found the current interview structure to simply be a coin flip. Do enough and you'll get the job, you don't need to be good or bad.
