They called for a ambulance, they did not prevent EMS from providing care. Should have left him in the car but that wouldn't have looked any better, bunch of cops standing around till EMS shows up to drag a dead guy out of the back of the squad car and then it would have been calling negligence and crying they just watched him die. It looks bad no matter what. Morally, you put yourself in a situation, the results of that are on you, not the people that have to show up and deal with you.

Swallowing drugs is the only factor. Saying anything more than that is forcing others to accept responsibility for actions that are not theirs. No matter what, they did it would always be called a contributing factor, left in the car now that caused a panic attack thats a contributing factor. etc.. In that line of thinking there is no correct action the police could have taken other than never having been there at all.

Absolutely did. Nothing about the police actions was in anyway a contributing factor other than the fact, they were called, showed up and a criminal reject swallowed his drugs.

No matter what they did floyd was going to be dead before that ambulance got there, leave him in the back of the car, they would get blamed, let him out and let him sit, still blamed. It would have gone to the stress of being arrested is a contributing factor even if they turned him lose.
