Last year, I was lucky enough to interview @lionelloueke for @groovalo - My first question: where is the One? He knew what I meant. https://t.co/qVDwOxrlee

Makes me think of the impact 45” vinyl had on pop music...

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

Late to this one I know, but truly hating this 280 character nonsense. I *loved* the effect 140 limit had on my writing.

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

Also a good way to satisfy my appetite for jazz content without having to stuff my amazon basket with even more Coltrane biogs...

I’m not caught up yet - don’t know how many listeners in Luxembourg you have but I’m just half way through ep11. No spoilers!

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

@TheJazzPodcast Actually though, it has transformed my commute. I’m laughing, learning, and as inspired as I’ve been in ages. It’s an absolute joy! @Roblcope @danfarrant

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

Only just getting to the @TheJazzPodcast thing. Really great stuff. Low-intervention editing meets ever-so-slightly-underresearched absurdity.

Excited for this. https://t.co/MwHFqTV3Gb

@JonOpstad maybe this? Jools interviewing Brian Johnson followed immediately by Loose Tubes, "a rather impressive jazz group" https://t.co/dI7ucGmSfX

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

So glad you followed up with youtube link - otherwise i would have been on the hunt for some kind of VHS to USB monstrosity... https://t.co/tYX7FxacOX

[Jon Opstad @JonOpstad]

@cellarsandlofts Here's some of it, although the focus is obviously on Blakey rather than the London scene. Some good footage of Jazz Warriors players though... https://t.co/xWER9ztiR7

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

Great tip! Would never have thought of this. Side note: Interesting that US trips to Europe were so well documented they stand as records of the scene over here. https://t.co/4qBQ9RMb4D

[Jon Opstad @JonOpstad]

@cellarsandlofts This, if you can find it, has some good footage of Art Blakey playing/rehearsing with many young London musicians in the 80s (Courtney Pine, etc.): https://t.co/UGkkynUl31

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

So many players reference 80s London jazz scene - I know basically nothing about this stuff - any good pointers? Books, articles, interviews, records, bootlegs, etc.

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

So much love in this @freddiegavita album. Love between players, love for his subjects, love for the listener. Genuine and generous.

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

Either that or they must have been listening to a lot of 80s Sly and Robbie and Chemical Brothers' Surrender record.

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

Today, Balinese folk music is demolishing all of my long held beliefs about innovators in dance music. 🙀

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

@CDPlayaa @ElliotGalvin gotta love the obligatory invisible bandmate photo

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

Love it! I had thought that one could never have enough double basses. Four might be enough. Just. https://t.co/2rsnFxU0BI

[cellars & lofts @cellarsandlofts]

*puts away this Sam Rivers record and settles down a bit*

Late seventies Dave Holland makes me want to be late seventies Dave Holland excuse me while I go and grow a proper mustache
