being an “out girl” has given me the social equivalent of incel pattern recognition. i don’t resent the “in girls,” nor do i feel entitled to their acceptance. but i’ve spent years watching some women move effortlessly through big, enduring friend groups while others of us can be liked one-on-one and still remain peripheral. after enough rejection, you start wondering which parts of the invisible rubric you keep failing: warmth, beauty, sameness, status, timing, social proof. when belonging comes naturally to everyone else, you start studying the hierarchy because nobody will tell you the rules.

Just because we can trust, say, a trained soldier with a rocket launcher it doesn't mean we should all have rocket launchers, and that it wouldn't be dangerous to have a rocket launcher. No one's saying anyone should be put down when they havent had an incident, but people are saying incidents are incredibly likely with this breed and the others I listed that there should be some guard rails on the ownership of this animal.

It's because women deal a lot- esp as kids and teens- with being boiled down and used for sexual reasons. They want to know that the male friend they have doesn't only care about their fuckability, and when a male friend asks them out it feels like that's what the relationship was built on for them-- not an enjoyment of their personality.

It's a perspective thing that's poisoned by other bad experiences.

I love men, but please stop pretending youre not all fucking animals from the ages 15-18, and many men have some woman they had a poor social experience with as a teen. Women experience those things too.

Many times, when these childhood friends are confessing, they are still young.

I don't think women are repulsed by this (there's a whole category of romance about it) but it does tend to have problems. They can be solved ofc and those two can have a very happy relationship if they want it.

This is usually how links within articles on a specific publication works in most AP style publications. If she was actually trying to reference something to support her argument then she is stupid as hell.

Most of these writers are not as you say "trained journalists" (pros and cons with this) so they end up looking stupid asf when they're trying to actually write something.

I feel like I am almost apathetic to this still because I think the dating market as it is, is just us actually experiencing the feeling of being naturally selected against. If you cannot do what it takes to be the fittest, you will not survive.

On the bright side, humans are extremely adaptable (as with the reasons listed that we haven't really felt the effects previously) and you can indeed make yourself "fitter" but this does require being able to pin down what those traits are which makes someone datable and seek improvement in them.

This is a very interesting video. If you’re a young man, and especially if you’re struggling with dating, it’s actually in your interest to be shaming age gaps, these older men have you completely bamboozled. No one would benefit more from making age gaps taboo than young men.

I am always stuck because I want to join like women's groups and discords for gaming but so many of them are so deeply ideologically captured that I tend to not find a lot of success in actually making friends in them.

Happens a lot IRL too. The biggest thing COVID took from me was my ability to socialize, I've been stunted ever since tbh.
