After clearing my deceased military & engineer bad ass dad’s bedroom, I found what I thought was a plumb bomb for heavy equip. Turns out it was a Vietnam era tank missile fuze that he’d acquired. Spent the a.m. outside with bomb squad in my house removing it. It was active. 🙄
#OTD in 1996, the Japanese destroyer Yugiri accidentally shot down a U.S. Navy A-6E Intruder with a Phalanx CIWS during a training exercise. The Intruder crew from VA-115 ejected and were recovered. It was the first foreign plane shot down by Japanese forces since 1945.
If Disney were serious about this damned franchise they'd eject all the younger-Millennial nonbinaries and feminists from both writing and production, then get some *real* writers to do a TARKIN prequel. He was the one man who made even Vader pause, and his story should be told. Not with CGI, but in a straight live-action film. And there's just one actor to could do it justice.
The reason the "Trump is getting old and feeble" line doesn't really work is because the man just keeps churning out bangers like this one

@LeahLibresco I continually lament that my alma mater dropped/deemphasized its creedal distinctiveness right after I graduated, just in time to get crushed like any generic small university.
