SSG Dain Taylor Venne, age 29, of Port Henry, N.Y. was killed in action on 3 Nov 2012 in Paktika Province, Afghanistan by a roadside bomb.

He enlisted after 9/11 and was assigned to the 178th Engineer Bn, 412th Theater Engineer Command, U.S. Army Reserve, based in Oswego, NY.
