@thefreightnerd Most of you coverages are 15%+ on margins and is getting better. Carriers don't push back enough and starting to sweep freight from the board left and right with no regards to crapiness of the load. Not a good tendency.
@cremieuxrecueil @finleyistan Total hypothetical bullshit.
First: Noone builds new power plants for DCs.
Second: DC donβt offer to cover any of listed. They forced to.
Third: any on field research shows increase in electricity, transfer and water bills increases to public around DCs in the area.
Even as a carrier, I wouldnβt oppose to that, but I donβt mind different schedules.
We can adjust and sometimes itβs helpful.
Also strict appt should be outlawed.
It has to be a window. And no stupidity like you only can show up 15 min before your appt and if 1 minute late, you need to reschedule.
The biggest problem is the delay and luck of proper compensation for it.
That should be regulated on federal level.
2 hours is more than plenty to load a truck.
If you on time, you shouldnβt experience detention.
The issue that no one talks about is that delays on top of being productivity and resources wasting machine also the biggest contributing factor to fatigue and subsequently accidents.
Why would any vet want that job in the first place?
Away from home and family, you're treated like shit from your own company all the way to shippers, receivers, cops, and the public. Pay is abysmal, benefits are worse than what my dog has, and so on.
Like, didnβt they sacrifice enough already by putting a few years in service?
@John__Ferguson Because communication between broker and customer takes hours, when itβs a matter of a quick call, but you keep sending emails that no one checks, especially towards the end of the day.
Everyone with little exp knows itβs wasted day most likely and little to no compensation.
