Umpire’s Call undermines the purpose of DRS.
If technology is used, decisions should be binary—out or not out.
Carrying forward human error defeats fairness and opens room for bias and gives umpire loophole to use in favour of one team

Why the name “Pythagorean theorem”? Why credit Greeks, why not Egyptians or Babylonians or Indians?
This false and twisted term “Pythagorean theorem” is repeated 32 times in the NCERT class X text. This repetition indoctrinates young children to believe in an extreme form of Christian/White/Western chauvinistic history through false claims of their “superiority”.
This term and the related claim of "superiority" involves an interplay of history and PHILOSOPHY which few Indians understand.
Thus, our class IX school text explicitly says "Greeks" did something “superior” in geometry compared to Indians, Babylonians and Egyptians (pic1), hence implicitly that the proposition should be named after a Greek (real or imaginary😀).
Actually, Greek understanding of "Pythagorean proposition" was INFERIOR. https://t.co/Po1gmdyHck or see video (pic2) https://t.co/yVP1nblavj )
Our source for the Greek knowledge of “Pythagorean proposition” is the “Euclid” book (the earliest from the late +9th c. CE, a mere 1200 years ago) which states it in an INFERIOR way.
It says c^2 = a^2+b^2, where c is the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle with sides a, b. Why is this INFERIOR?
Bcoz to actually USE it one must CALCULATE c, given a and b, or CALCULATE a given c and b etc. In any case, we need to calculate square ROOTS. E.g. c = √( a^2+b^2) or a= √(c^2− b^2) etc.
The use of square ROOTS is explicitly stated in the Manava sulba sutra 10.10 (pic3), i.e., it states if c is the diagonal of a rectangle with sides a, b, then c = √( a^2+b^2).
Indians, Egyptians, Babylonians knew how to extract square roots. Today every child knows it: a method described by Aryabhata is taught in school (though its Indian origin is suppressed).
But though every child knows how to extract square roots today, early Greeks did NOT. They were arithmetically backward! Can u explain how get square roots with Greek or Roman numerals?! 😀
Europeans learnt square roots only in the 12th c.. 3rd hand from Latin translations of 2nd hand Arabic texts which had copied from Indian texts.
This historical trajectory is clear from the foolish term surd = deaf root for √2 as explained in my VIF talk (pic4 or https://t.co/IC76487xd6)
Bcoz of colonial education, we now teach that term "surd" 4th hand from European! Oh, what a fall my countrymen!
We should recognize the arithmetic INFERIORITY of early Greeks and eliminate the wicked term “Pythagorean theorem” from our school texts!
And, to reiterate, CONTRARY to the LIE in our school text, neither the "Euclid" book nor any known Greek text gives any special proof of the proposition.
The only special thing about Greek geometry was its association with the SOUL which religious connection the school text HIDES.
But why are our journos so anxious and aggressive to preserve such lies and suppression? Why won't they let us even publicly discuss them? And why do they oppose it ONLY with more lies and slander and censorship? @MohanaBasu@ShekharGupta
