Polkadot is redefining blockchain scalability with Elastic Scaling, Agile Coretime, and Async Backing, enabling parachains to produce multiple blocks per Relay Chain block.

What are Cores? 💡

Core = resources used to validate a block from a parachain on the Relay Chain.

Example: if the Relay Chain validates 25 blocks from parachains simultaneously, it’s using 25 cores.

Agile Coretime enabled parachains to lease extra cores short-term to handle spikes in demand—saving costs and boosting performance.

Here’s the big deal. With Elastic Scaling, parachains can also bundle and scale cores on demand.

→ Cost-Efficient Growth: Match blockspace with actual demand—no waste, no unnecessary spending.

And this isn't theory. During the Spammening event, @kusamanetwork achieved 143k+ TPS across 23/100 cores via Agile Coretime + Elastic Scaling, demonstrating the capabilities of the Polkadot SDK in a real-world environment.
