I am the only candidate in CA’s US Senate race demanding an unconditional ceasefire.
My call now reflects a lifetime of anti-war advocacy.
After 9/11, I cast the lone vote against the War in Afghanistan & led against the War in Iraq.
We need a proven peace & security Senator.
I talked to @timnitGebru about her new AI research institute, launched on the one year anniversary of being fired from Google. DAIR offers a competing vision for AI research from the broken incentives inside Big Tech https://t.co/fcMUgqRaOC
Thrilled to be able to finally share our work on dealing w/ disagreements in data!
Annotators are not interchangeable! When they disagree, especially on subjective tasks, it may be a signal rather than noise.
Ongoing work w/ my amazing intern @aidaa & colleague @blahtino. 1/N

I have been taking pictures of clouds for a while and I recently gathered a bunch of photos and used them to train a low-res GAN. Here are some cute fake-clouds for #cloudtwitter
The blog post has some great visualizations such as this one, which shows a network, starting out with randomly-weighted connections then learning to strengthen important connections during training (thanks for the clarification @Mitchnw)! https://t.co/3aPoTs8apT
Very cool work on a neural net that can jointly learn the weights and *connections* between nodes in an NN during training! A simple update rule relates the "importance" of a node-node connection (wrt decreasing the training error) to a weight assigned to that connection
Excited to share our blog on ~Discovering Neural Wirings~ expanding on recent work with Ali Farhadi & @morastegari to appear at #NeurIPS2019 (see thread below for more info)!

On auditing as a tool to make AI systems more transparent and accountable to the populations they affect. The brilliant @rajiinio discussed strategies for designing an actionable audit of facial recognition systems, taking inspiration from the social and information sciences
