Too few people know about the cleanup command in Linux. People run out of storage and buy a new laptop, this command helps you regain space that big-computers and the Linux big-wigs don't want you to know about.

@WorldDarkWeb Yeah that video made the rounds last week, this version is conveniently cut to remove the previous 5 minutes where the old lady keeps hitting the other passenger with her bag.
@mikewinddale@mcsquared34 I see your point, at this stage every innovation has been spent and every cost reduction has been gone through so growth becomes impossible but the machine carries on working
@mikewinddale@mcsquared34 Look at entertainment industry or tech for that. They're reaching or have reached saturation, and since they're publicly traded, growth is still required from them by shareholders, so they're doing crap: raising prices, merging, cutting costs
@mikewinddale@mcsquared34 Or phones: improvements are on the margin. There's very little innovation there, and the products are purposefully made to suck a bit so that we can guarantee sales next year.
@mikewinddale@mcsquared34 Your example of the perfect ford is interesting. Look at clothing, there's been very little innovation on clothing, yet the industry requires growth, by introducing fashion and trends, lowering costs by lowering standards of manufacturing.
@mikewinddale@mcsquared34 What we currently have *is* a form of capitalism, this particular flavour of capitalism requires growth, and it seems by far and large to be the predominant one.
@mikewinddale@mcsquared34 If your point is that what we see today is called capitalism but is not capitalism, sure, you're right, capitalism could probably theoretically work without growth. I trust that you know much more on the topic than I do
