I turn 35 years of age today. Here's the best life lesson on joy/fullfillment I can give you.
Your best hope for consistent joy will come from the adventures of creating, building, sharing and giving...then starting over n doing it again.
Most fail to achieve joy because they look for it in the destination or "consumption". This leads to sorrow and even worse confusion/vain attempts to regain joy via more intense consumption.
"Feck...I got the car, I got the house, I've traveled, I've partied...What the F do I do or buy next to keep myself feeling okay?!"
Most try to derive happiness via consuming OR they think they will "make it" and then enjoy a bountiful life of consuming.
AKA happiness is sitting around with all your goals achieved being able to enjoy doing nothing, eating, drinking, hanging with friends, fam, traveling....AKA coasting n letting go.
For most men at least, this is not true and a death sentence.
The journeys will always be when you are most content. Creation and building towards something will always be what gives you energy.
Once something is created sharing it & its rewards with others is all that you really have left on the table.
Then once again, its time for another journey. Regardless of how big or small it is.
Becoming a beginner again and "trying" will give you more than being a master and "coasting".
This will keep you vibrant, full of energy and satisfied.
There is actually no better way to achieve "dis-satisfaction" than reaching your goals or seeking satisfaction from consumption while failing to understand the above.
I used to believe making millions per month, 9 figures in networth would allow me to reach a point where I was "good".
This was not the case. In fact once I reached this point I was simply bored...as you would be playing a video game you've already beaten.
You can only travel, drink, talk to friends/fam so much. Once once is done, you need another fix of life consumption/time wasting to continue feeling okay.
Eventually you will wonder why DESPITE having all the consumption and time to consume you are not "satisfied" like you once were.
This is because you are no longer on an adventure or striving to do something.
This can be a vicious cycle, you see it in many. They hit their goal and then have no idea what to do so they consume, consume, consume hoping eventually it will trigger "enough".
Life then just becomes and endless pattern of "what can I consume next...Whats the next big high I can buy or give myself"
It doesn't work. In fact if you consume as most do it will make you slow, foggy, lethargic and SEPERATE you from your "muse" and drive to "adventure".
The consuming and FORCING yourself to enjoy the destination you worked hard for IS the thing the drain of joy...not the giver of it.
However the solution is easy. Start new adventures.
I started taking bio hacking, physical prowess, martial arts very seriously. It matters not that I am a beginner or "bad" at these things. All that matters is I am on new adventures.
I started a new company, which I still am not sharing.
Again I am creating and building.
I feel very little desire to consume. I "consume" very little, yet am stronger/faster/full of more energy than ever.
I am a beginner/starting from scratch in most of my pursuits, but I am more fulfilled than when I was just trying to enjoy the "master level" destination.
These things give me more joy and full fillment that any of the money or free time I am able to endlessly indulge in if I choose.
The good news is every person has the ability to get this right now. Its easy. It doesn't require years of work or making it.
It simply takes starting. It is there right now and always available. There isn't some place to escape to or destination you need to finally get to finally be "okay".
It's eternal.
Focus on growth and doing things worth doing and you will always have a reason to get up, stay strong and have good days.
Focus on the destination and consuming, and you no longer will have a reason to do much of anything.
P.S.
Don't worry I also have a lot of fun/celebration planned to celebrate my aging lol.

Recent life hack I’ve picked up:
Keeping a “frustration list.”
I have a pinned note in my phone that I write down little things that nag me.
Chargers not working, work that drains my energy, tiny areas I could improve.
Then every month I batch an hour and tackle that list.
Been in a massive learning & consumption mode over the last 14 days.
Easy to over-tilt in this direction—learning, learning, learning, not acting.
So I've been forcing myself to write up 3 takeaways & how I'll apply them from *every* video/podcast/article.
Highly recommend.
