Today we launch our Liberating Public Services conference which will be held on 21st March 2024 at Hilton Gateshead Newcastle.
Registrations are now open; we are keen to welcome decision makers, policy makers, funders and commissioners from across the public services landscape.
I’ve been to a lot of events that aim to build social movements for change but never anything as bloody brilliant as @CFNorthumbria yesterday in Gateshead: thoughtful, challenging, rooted in practice with huge lessons for systems & organisations in how to form your rebel alliance
Well it’s the morning after the day before and I feel compelled to thanks the CFN staff (esp Bev), speakers, panellists and everyone that attended our conference. It was a blast! The nicest, furious bunch you’ll ever meet. Keep an eye out for a conf summary soon @CFNorthumbria
At the #LiberatingPublicServices conference in Gateshead this morning. Lots of talk about relationships not transactions, creating a movement and power. It’s not all fluffy though, some honest reflections about how tough this stuff is! @HilaryCottam@ProfDonnaHall
1/3 Great to attend @CFNorthumbria Liberated Method conference today- and hear @MarkAdamSmith explain how Gateshead Local Authority provided ‘air cover’ for their relational work to develop.
We're at the @CFNorthumbria conference today, thinking about #liberatingpublicservices and ways of building and centering meaningful relationships across services.
Closing session co-hosted by Hannah Hesselgreaves and Mark Smith. Two languages of public service systems at the @CFNorthumbria conference risk, intregration, leadership vs learning, improvement and change. We need coherence between them #LiberatingPublicServices
Such an inspiring event - feels like the next step will be to fully bring out all the energy and connections from the room itself. Perhaps using Liberating Structures? @Lyse_e and @juanitaguidera might have some brilliant ideas to enable that... #LiberatingPublicServices
The stories from the data are a sign of the individual tragedy of repeated missed opportunities to help improve people's lives #LiberatingPublicServices
Frances Donnelly asks ‘What is it we’re in the business of changing!’
Surely the only thing we can change with any certainty is ourselves. In the hope of influencing change in others as role models, leaders and fellow humans.

Looking at the data from a relational perspective to help understand a person's experience of failure demand is crucial. There are 368 000 people across England with multiple complex needs...do the maths. Time to change #LiberatingPublicServices
