Director of Public Service Reform for a metropolitan local authority. Also a fellrunner and ultrarunner with much more ambition than talent. Views my own.
Expecting a “prototype” to change the system is like blaming a car’s starter motor for not powering the whole journey. ‘’Proliferating” ideas is an entirely different thing.
@MarkAdamSmith and I explore prototyping & proliferating public service reform.

In our latest England 🏴 article, @ProfDonnaHall explains how a comprehensive, inter-departmental approach is needed to move beyond outdated systems, fostering a culture of questioning and collaboration in public services.

An inspiring episode of the #RadicalReformers podcast with @inwang founder of @lp_trust. Its a story of how a teacher refused to accept the state of children's care homes and dedicated themselves to showing it can be done better
We need more Emmanuels across public services!
To mark the launch of the Taskforce's final report, Demos is hosting the Future Public Services Summit, where we will set out a new public service reform agenda.

@PaulIanTaylor@John_A_Wade@BryonyShannon Bryony is pin sharp in her take on language, purpose and the importance of relational support. Definitely one of the people in public sector land that we should all be listening to and learning from.
Rest in Peace Joss Naylor. Quite the most inspirational athlete I can think of. A Wasdale shepherd that just won everything and never lost his love for the fells. We’ve lost an absolute great.
A must listen for anyone interested in the work of the @CFNorthumbria and the use of the Liberated method
I explored the impact this has had on the patients from the Trust with Victoria Johansen and Roisin Burdis with support from @MarkAdamSmith
Thanks to @STSFTrust Comms
Liberating Public Services as a concept is pretty old and part of what makes us human. As a method, it's growing and iterating. With roots in vanguard, human learning systems and in the profundity of recovery, we grew the LM in Gateshead. https://t.co/kUYnBvhrIg
🚨 NEW RESEARCH 🚨
Our new paper, out today, calls for the next government to break with the past and usher in a new era of “liberated public services”.

@Rships_Project@LACNetworkUK When I’m asked to prove the power of relationships and relationships and relational working, I’m happy to. But I’m increasingly getting annoyed and asking what possible case can be made for designing relationships out of human centred work? There is no biz case to stay as we are
@ProfDonnaHall@KateAlvanley Absolutely. A relational approach which has support, challenge, agency and purpose. It can be messy too. It’s not neat and critically, not commissionable. It needs an investment mindset. Investing in what matters to people.
