@JesseReSimonton@MichaelWBratton They would play about as many "meaningful" regular season games as UConn/Duke basketball. Games will still matter to fanbases but will lose national appeal with less championship implications. That's not what college football should be, but they clearly don't care what we think
@JerzeeKory@_Tide18Tymes@SSN_Alabama Agreed. Hence why I said "bigger name" instead of "better coach". Many of the recent big-name hires in college football have failed (i.e. Lincoln Riley, Brian Kelly, Jimbo Fisher)
@GrahamCoffeyDC I was also against going from 4 to 12. The 12 team format has worked out pretty well IMO. 24 would be awful. Much like NCAA Tournament expansion discourse, 90% of fans can agree that it is bad and the folks in charge couldn't care less
@bamaperspective I think all rational fans understand things will never be as good as they were under Nick Saban. With that said he is one 7-5 season away from a lot of folks wanting him gone
@Dukefan4292@GoodmanHoops@TheFieldOf68 They clearly could not lure one of the top college coaches. Mark Byington was the most sensible hire for them and they decided to chase unicorns instead while allowing Vandy to lock him up
@WinterSportsLaw@JayBilas Few people actually care about players getting paid, we want a firm set of enforceable rules. Bilas has always been a players rights absolutist and is wrong
@Vern_Funquist@carolinefenton1 Idk it might be because Kiffin left Ole Miss amidst a playoff run and did everything he could to keep his staff from coaching in the playoff while Wade left NC State after just one season
@NextRoundLive Let's be real here. Scheyer has been better than Coach K was in his last few years, he has just choked in late rounds of the tournament. Alabama is much worse under DeBoer than Saban's last few years. Scheyer has had a 2 year head start, we'll see
@watermanbbb For context: Bruce Pearl is currently sitting his fatass behind a desk spewing off dumb shit on TNT while his nepo son is driving your program into the ground
@DaleJonesJDMBA@ShannonTerry@HarperNation24 I wouldn't say never (could've happened in 2023 if Brandon Miller is fully healthy), but our odds of finding a better coach than Nate Oats would be no greater than 1%
