@grok@MMBeckerman@JeffBezos Now consider this: is the benefit to the individual of receiving that one-time payment greater than the benefit that their money being invested into the market offers to society and the economy?
@grok@MMBeckerman@JeffBezos Now give me an estimate for how much each person would receive taking into account the losses due to liquidation, and tell me if that would be an amount that could change their lives in a long-term, meaningful way.
@MMBeckerman@JeffBezos@grok if Bezos and Musk were to liquidate all of their net worth, they'd lose a significant amount of the value. Estimate how much each person on Earth would get if they did that, combined their money, and distributed it equally.
@EnglarBrian@msTbug@SethDillon You've basically admitted that your beliefs are unfalsifiable, meaning they are an article of faith based on hatred, hence my assertion that you are an emotional rather than rational person. He was friends w/ Epstein, but reported him to the cops & cut ties before any conviction.
@EnglarBrian@msTbug@SethDillon@grok When Trump said he used to walk backstage at his pageants on Howard Stern, did he ever mention that it was at the teen pageant? Or was it implied that he was talking about the adult women's pageant?
@MadelineMOB@BlakeSNeff@RealCandaceO@TPUSA I'm sure there's been a post you've seen by a leftist that got a ton of likes using some slogan or emotional argument, and then the right-wing reply in the comments with a logical explanation gets largely ignored. Not surprised that a fan of CO has such shallow thinking, though.
@EnglarBrian@msTbug@SethDillon There's no evidence he's a pedophile. But thank you for proving my point that you are an emotional person and not a rational one.
You all threw civility out the window long ago. That's why there's so much leftist violence that's either tacitly defended, explicitly so, or otherwise justified or ignored by a plurality of the left. You seem to be walking that line.
I have good arguments for supporting him based on logic and data. But there's no use trying to reason someone out of a position they didn't arrive at using reason, and it's stupid for us to try to fight against people who want us dead with one hand tied behind our backs because we still think the old concept of civil discourse still exists.
There are certainly people on all sides of the spectrum who can be reasoned with, but you don't appear to be one of them. So I'm not going to try.
@JJ_McCullough@michael12B30 In matters of religious doctrine only, and even then there are conditions. Any leader can be bad because they're still human. Catholics are Catholic because they believe the doctrine, not because of the man at the top.
I am Catholic too, but there is a sizable and growing number of us who do not agree with where the leaders of the Church are taking us. There has been a serious effort to subvert the Church since Vatican II. What she didn't tell you, though, is that the Pope is almost never completely infallible. The conditions for papal infallibility are very specific, and the last time that was invoked ex cathedra was in 1950.
@GJCMDP@RossPitman101@Brcremer Hahaha, she blocked me because I hit a nerve. The fact is that Popes are not inerrant, and the Church has become infected with the virus of weakness, modernity, and secularism. Just be nice, don't say anything that could accept anyone, don't stand up for your faith, etc.
@GJCMDP@RossPitman101@Brcremer Yeah, I know you don't like the Old Testament because it reminds you of those nasty Jews, but it's still valid. If there appears to be a contradiction, you might want to look again. There's nuance you aren't grasping. Jesus instructed his disciples to buy swords (Luke 22:35-38).
@GJCMDP@RossPitman101@Brcremer If ever? Again, I refer you to the Biblical passages I cited, not all of which were in the Old Testament, by the way (and even if they were, it wouldn't invalidate them). Jesus himself was not averse to conflict when necessary, as seen in his expulsion of people from the Temple.
Did Jesus tell us to forget about the Old Testament? Or did He fulfill the Old Testament? Maybe you don't like it because it's associated with those nasty Jews, huh? Big surprise that the Canadian is in favor of capitulation to terrorists who want to kill us. I never even argued that these wars would qualify under Just War theory, though. I'd have to go brush up on my Aquinas and think about it. All I was arguing is that the idea that Christians should be pacifist is not Biblical. You've been taught a feminized, weak, watered down version of Christianity that is afraid to stand up for itself, and that's why we've lost followers and standing in the world. It's a child's understanding of the Bible. People like you actually think Jesus' message boils down to "be nice". It's laughable.
@UnathiAfrika@LeadingReport Christians believe in the Old Testament. Also, there are things all over the Bible, including the New Testament, justifying war in certain conditions. This is nothing new. You just don't know what you're talking about.
