America is 250 years old.

9/11 was 25 years ago.

Ten percent of our history has come and gone since that terrible day.

A generation.

90 million Americans have been born since. Twenty-five percent of our people weren’t even alive when the world stopped turning.

They do not remember because they cannot.

So today we remember, those of us who can. We tell the story so those born too late to remember may know.

We call to mind the lessons, many of which have already been lost to time and decay, to conspiracy theories and cynicism peddled for money and fame and power:

That ignoring the world does not mean the world ignores us.

That competition between civilizations does not end simply because we claim the board is settled.

That peace is not the norm, but the exception, and is purchased only by strength and will.

And that a nation that sneers at its own mission and mythology will not long remain a nation at all.

That the barbarians are always at the gate—and inside it.

We mourn the unimaginable loss of that day, when our sleeping nation was jolted awake for a moment, only to doze again.

We pray that our eyes might one day remain open.

Many are fighting over something that isn’t the real problem and they’re missing a very important way the left beats us (while using our money to do it). The Trump/Vance plan to give funds to stay at home parents is NOT a new program or new $$.

Right now that money is given disproportionately to Democrat voters because the existing daycare funds, ALREADY appropriated by Congress, only go to people who put their kids in a daycare. Many of which are single moms who vote Democrat. Many conservative women who are stay at home Moms don’t benefit.

This is typical. Why?

Welfare is designed for the benefit of Democrats and their voters. The Trump/Vance change proposes allowing married stay at home parents to qualify for that existing program, using the existing money. This changes a fundamental problem with many welfare programs: They’re designed to disproportionately benefit Democrats and their voters. I’m not saying zero Republicans use welfare, but indisputably, programs are designed to benefit Democrat voters and causes more.

Would I rather us just cut taxes? Yes. Always. But perfect can’t be the enemy of good.

This program exists. The right needs to be smart enough to include our voters in the group of people who benefit from it so long as it does exist. This is culturally good for promoting family and electorally good for us as long as the program exists. That’s the reality of the program and policy change. You can let programs like this continue to hurt us both financially and electorally, while disproportionately rewarding Democrats… Or we can try to make it useful for our side as long as it exists. It’s really simple math once you thoroughly dissect where we’re actually at.

Broken down more simply: Big government took our money already. They dispense it largely for the benefit of Democrat voters and NGO’s. We don’t have the votes in Congress to stop it. Facing such a reality, changing the rules to ensure some of our voters benefit is simply common sense.

It’s been one year since Charlie was murdered in the most significant political assassination of my lifetime.

One year, and it feels like every day of that year was somehow a reaction to that horrible moment.

Charlie had flaws, like any man.

He was not killed for them.

Charlie was murdered for what was best about him — for what was extraordinary about him:

He spoke the truth with strength and love — two qualities we’ve been assured cannot coexist, and yet Charlie showed us that they can and must.

Some of the worst ugliness humans are capable of has been unleashed by Charlie’s death. Evil performed for clicks, for money, and sometimes just for attention. Evil performed in the name of friendship. Evil performed in the name of God. Evil performed in the name of politics, both left and right.

His death has been celebrated. His beloved wife has been mocked and scorned. His friends accused. His life’s work disparaged.

His children will have to grow up in a world that lies to them every day about what kind of man he was.

It is easy on a day like today to damn it all.

Charlie wouldn’t.

He would have hugged his wife, sent a few Bible verses off to his friends, modeled love for his children, and gotten back to work — speaking the truth with strength and love.

He had a better heart than I do, but I will try to follow his lead.

1. I don’t support adding to our national debt with a program that isn’t an actual dividend. It will only worsen inflation.

2. Let’s not pretend this isn’t exactly what Democrats do when they offer free phones, free housing, free college, free food, free sex changes, free healthcare, etc. in every election.

3. Unfortunately "hey we need to cut back and be responsible" isn’t a popular pitch to low propensity voters and they likely decide who wins the election.

4. Still love my friends who disagree here and appreciate the good work many of them are doing. I just want us to be responsible.

That is the whole argument. Not “was she sad.” Not “did she hear voices.” What happens after you let them out, and who pays for it the second time.

Lindsay Clancy strangled her three kids. People are already writing her a sympathy card and calling prison cruel. Cruel is three little bodies. Cruel is doing it once and getting a path back to freedom. Cruel is pretending history didn’t already run this experiment and lose six kids.

Mental illness can explain how someone gets there. It does not give you a free murder. It does not entitle you to more children. And it does not require the rest of us to wait around and see if the next round dies too.

If you kill your kids, you don’t get to be a mother again. You don’t get a soft landing and a second family. Life without parole. Lock the door. Stop experimenting on other people’s children and making excuses.

Convict her. Convict those who harm children. Period.

One thing I can say about conservatives for the most part. Most do not mock people when tragedy strikes them. Even people they strongly disagree with. Rob Reiner was an outspoken voice who hated conservatives or anyone who voted for Trump. But upon his murder, I see conservatives rightfully even challenging the president for his insensitivity to the issue.

Yet when Charlie Kirk was killed in front of the world, so many people on the left celebrated and cheered. Even made videos of themselves celebrating. And if they didn’t celebrate it, they found som way to justify it.

I am neither a liberal or conservative. I don’t do brands or labeling anymore, but if I had to choose a side based on basic human dignity and decency, conservatives wins.

It’s the same trick the media used for years. The only difference now is that it’s happening inside our own house.

The DEI hire of the conservative movement has officially taken her crown as the Ketanji Brown Jackson of the right—unserious, unimpressive, and inexplicably elevated by people who should know better.
