Care workers are the backbone of our health and social care system. Delighted that our paper on resilience and work related sense of coherence in #AdultSocialCare explores the assets of this often devalued workforce.

“No one wants to have to plan for their own future or death but it’s a fact of life and only you know what you’d like to happen - plan for the worst hope for the best and better yet write it down and file and forget it but tell those that matter first"
-Ollie Minton (@drol007)

Our take on thickened liquid and modified texture diet #challenges. Originally - @EWidera - and still if used correctly - a valuable role in highlighting the impact of modified diets and encouraging staff to reflect on the appropriateness of their use.
Aging better isn’t about avoiding decline altogether.
It about:
- Starting at a higher peak
- Slowing the rate of decline
- And delaying disability for longer
Exercise is the key to unlocking all three outcomes.
Build resilience now, thrive later.
📒"Our estimates only include public spend &
NOT the considerable proportion of expenditure,
by individuals & families. It is estimated that more than a third of res. care in Eng is self-funded.
Reductions in🏥time,
due to palliative &
EOL interventions-
