I recently went on @Mission22 's The Resiliency Podcast to discuss my novel, Now What, and the impact I hope it has on the veteran community.

The hardest transition isn’t leaving combat.
It’s figuring out who you are after service.
Chad Spivack joins Security Halt! to talk depression, identity loss, mental health, and rebuilding purpose after the military.
Special thanks to Precision Wellness Group
for supporting the episode.

For many, that’s when the real fight begins.
In this episode, Chad Spivack opens up about the reality of transition—losing identity, battling depression, and searching for purpose after service. This isn’t theory. This is lived experience.
If you’ve ever felt lost after the military…

Really enjoyed this conversation on @SecurityHalt. We spoke about a lot of issues that are currently plaguing, not only our service members, but young men in general. Give it a listen.

@Lovable I reached out to support on Sunday about a GitHub connection issue. The AI agent said my issue was escalated to the support team. I have received no further update and it is now Thursday.
@FoxNews The current system of helping vets with pills and general apathy is hopefully coming to an end. Plant medicine under proper guidance can be extremely beneficial and can actually expose the underlying cause rather than applying a bandaid
Social media proves that No one gatekeeps being a veteran, like a veteran
It seems online there is always a reason you’re not part of the club. You don’t have the right award. You didn’t see combat. You saw the wrong type of combat
For what it’s worth, I’m proud of all of you.
The number 22 gets shared a lot. Hashtagged. Cited in speeches. Put on shirts.
I kept thinking about the subset of guys behind it. Lower enlisted. No deployment. No diagnosis. Not in any database anybody was checking.
Nobody was counting them. That's something we need to fix.

@TRUMP_ARMY_ We are not doing enough to address the root cause of this problem. This is a purpose void problem. Military does a great job of establishing individual purpose but terrible job of helping members transition.
@Kuriositykills Part of the unwritten code of military ethos is having humility almost to a fault. There is always someone who did more, had it worse, etc. But you still signed the dotted line and served your country. Fraud is inevitable in an imperfect system.
@VeteransForVet2 This is exactly what I’m aiming to address in my novel, Now What. The hardest part of taking the uniform off is dealing with not having another uniform to put on.
Military or veteran: what's something civilians say about service life that's technically accurate but completely misses the point?
I'll go first, "at least you got to travel."
