@holland_tom@dcsandbrook I am thoroughly enjoying the @TheRestHistory deep dive into various national anthems. In America, we took tune of 'God Save The King' and applied to another of our patriotic ballads; "My Country 'Tis of Thee". It was a awkward when I discovered that.
@ANTHONYBLOGAN@SaraGonzalesTX If this is him and his allies trying to put out the dumpster fire that has been raging for the past five days, he is in real trouble!
@BlueBoxDave I voted for @JohnCornyn, fearing that the constant drip of the Paxton scandals would cause this race to be way closer than it should be. Here we are 48 hours after, and @jamestalarico is showing everyone himself, the dumpster fire he is. At this point, this may be over by August!
@MattWalshBlog It's embarrassing. Brett Michaels? Millie Vanilli? I never understood why the right was so enamored with Kid Rock. This is a guy who, for years, advocated a strange lascivious lifestyle, but because he did some nice things for the troops, conservatives invited him to everything.
@nedryun Just read 'Red River to Appomattox' the 3rd installment of Shelby Foote's excellent narrative where Danville, VA played such an integral role, especially late in the war. It is good to see that thereβs a renewed interest, and good folks in the commonwealth haven't forgotten.
@JoshuaBarzon Wow! Osteen, for sure, being that his prosperity 'gospel' contradicts biblical history itself. He is a motivational speaker masquerading as a preacher.
@michaeljknowles This is the awkward kid in high school who claimed he had a hot girlfriend from one town over, who every time his friends were about to be introduced....."Darn it, you just missed her!"
I am Captivated by this excellent narrative by @James1940. Very difficult to put down, so much so that I find myself increasingly frustrated by the inexcusable behavior by the Italians in the summer of 1943! Was it duplicity or ineptitude? Reading late to find out! #WeHaveWays
Hey @donwildman#AmericanHistoryHit pod is indeed fantastic. I am curious if you ever thought about doing a show on the battle of Adobe Walls featuring the great Kit Carson. I was bitten by the 'Carson' bug' ever since I read the brilliant "Blood and Thunder" by Hampton Sides.
