@0xMiden is taking a customer-led approach to ZK.
Start with a problem public blockchains cannot solve, then apply privacy where it matters.
Private lending. Private trading. Dark pools.
That problem-first approach could improve the odds of finding real product-market fit.
@0xMiden’s grant model is selective by design. The team identifies apps that fit its architecture, looks for teams able to build them, and may ask for a working start before serious funding talks. Being non-EVM also removes the easy Uniswap fork path. Builders have to build.
6/6
Taken together, rc.1 targets the less visible work of running a distributed network: coordinated recovery, validator key bootstrap, concurrent state access and correct retained history.
Miden labels v0.16.0-rc.1 a pre-release. It is not a mainnet launch.
1/6
@0xMiden Node v0.16.0-rc.1 is less about new user features and more about network operations.
The release changes recovery, validator key setup, store reads and history pruning.
It is a pre-release, not a mainnet release.
5/6
History pruning was also fixed.
The old logic could delete rows that were older than the cutoff but still needed to reconstruct vault, storage-map or code state for blocks inside the retention window.
The new logic tracks when each row remains valid.
5/5
The release notes do not make new claims about bridge security, speed, fees or privacy.
The confirmed change is narrower: v1.15.16 made cross-chain deposits a user-facing wallet action on mobile and desktop.
1/5
In @0xMiden Wallet v1.15.16, bridge-in became a normal wallet action.
“Receive from EVM” was exposed on mobile and desktop, moving cross-chain deposits from a launch-gated flow into the user-facing wallet.
4/5
That makes v1.15.16 a product milestone, even if the underlying bridge capability already existed.
The change was about accessibility: moving bridge-in from gated infrastructure into a feature users could reach from the normal wallet UI.
6/ Important distinction: the partnership is announced, but the full end-user experience is still a target.
Miden says the collaboration will support these products. It has not said every transfer, swap and yield flow is already live in a finished Miden wallet.
1/ @0xMiden and @0xEpochProtocol are working to bring crosschain transfers, swaps and yield access into privacy-preserving wallet experiences.
The goal: hide more of the infrastructure without making account activity public.
5/ That points to an intent-based UX.
Instead of manually choosing a bridge, chain and protocol, the user specifies an outcome: move assets, make a swap or access yield.
Epoch’s infrastructure works out how to reach that state.
