crazy how many versions of not playing the game we have in ff14, we have not playing the game (doing various activities via botting), not playing the game (buying piloted clears) and now not playing the game (spinning the boss until it's dead)
The only solution is for the devs to block plugins, mods, all that crap, period.
People don't like this, people won't like it if it ever happens, people will get mad when you state this, but look. Keep gorging on sugar and you'll get diabetes, so to speak.
Yes, there are plugins that are not made for cheating and are great, often indispensable QoL improvements, but that too, is up to the devs to assess and implement (inexcusable that an MMO in 2026 does not have a built in latency display in the UI, just to name one of the most eggregious examples).
Either that, or keep things as-is but with the understanding that raiding and any other form of endgame content will always be tainted and people will have legitimate cause to question and diminish clears and whatnot.
And yeah, most people in the "community" play for the story, so in the end of the day it does no affect their gameplay experience, but this is just too absurd.
Beyond the technical aspects, I've been told a gew years ago when these things started to get out of control that there's some alleged legal cause as to why they can't just do it and implement anti-cheat, idk if that's true or not.
@Augh1234yee@Glitching_Ashby@Kaitou_XIV Mod users are not as big of a chunk of the playerbase as people perceive them to be, they're just a very loud and visible minority.
@KaladinOW I have never seen a Masters 6v6 player who wasn't hardstuck Silver~Plat in 5v5, but Masters+ 5v5 players are always GM in 6v6, yet somehow 6v6ers will look you dead in the eyes, with all seriousness, and tell you their mode has the better players and is a higher skill mode.
