Key Takeaways from the Challenges Forum 2025 (CAF25) have been launched at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, hosted by the Permanent Missions of Sweden and Ghana to the UN.
Representing the Centre, Air Commodore David Akrong, Acting Commandant, and Dr. Emma Birikorang, Director for Applied Research and Innovation, shared key lessons from CAF25 — stressing that effective peace operations hinge on genuine partnerships, innovation, and shared accountability among the UN, AU, and Africa’s regional bodies.
Their message was clear: peace operations must evolve with agility, creativity, and inclusivity — drawing on the strengths of governments, academia, and civil society alike.
