✅In Pibor, they engaged residents during confidence-building patrols to assess security and identify emerging threats.
✅In Kuajok, @UNPOL officers built community trust by engaging with residents in the California Community Area.
✅In Kodok, they conducted security patrols and mentored local police to strengthen community protection.
🕊️ Through such interactions, @UNPOL is helping deter threats and protect vulnerable communities affected by conflict, cattle raiding and intercommunal tensions.

.@UNPOL Adviser Faisal Shahkar opened the first-ever United Nations Operational Police Commanders’ Course at the German Police Training and Development Center in Brühl. The course, led by expert mentors, involves 17 participants from UNHQ, peace operations and the host nation.

Gender-responsive policing is crucial in countries like #SouthSudan 🇸🇸, where women are amongst the most vulnerable groups. To engage them, #UNMISS @UNPOL is conducting all-female patrols that don’t just show visibility but also foster trusting relationships between peacekeepers and South Sudanese women that effectively inform increased reporting and more immediate protection responses.
