In cooperation with Council of Higher Education and
@timeshighered, we held the official opening ceremony of the Sustainable Development Congress in Istanbul with the participation of more than 5000 international representatives from all over the world.
📌Helding such an important organization in Türkiye reflects Türkiye's growing role in international academia and underlines Istanbul's unique location where cultures, ideas and connections across continents meet.
📌Unfortunately, this Congress is taking place at a time when Israel has launched a new offensive against the region. Israel must immediately stop its attacks, which are a clear violation of international law.
📌As higher education leaders from all around the world, we must take responsibility to promote regional and global peace and stability.
📌We call on the international higher education community to openly and strongly defend academic freedom and human rights.
