ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಜಾಲವು ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕವಾದ ಗಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಹಬ್ಬಿದ್ದರೂ, ಆಡಳಿತಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ವಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೇ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ದೂರುಗಳನ್ನು ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಹರಿಸಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ವಹಿವಾಟುಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಸುಲಭತೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸುಧಾರಿಸಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ.

2024 ರ ಜುಲೈ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಈ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಆ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದ ಕುಂದುಕೊರತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು, ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಂಕಣ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿ, ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಈ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಮೋದಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಭಾಗದ ಜನತೆಯ ಬಹುದಿನಗಳ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಈಡೇರಿಸಿರುವ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಶ್ವಿನಿ ವೈಷ್ಣವ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾದ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

A historic decision for coastal Karnataka!

To address long-pending demands and improve accessibility for rail users, the Mangaluru railway region (up to Ullal) is being transferred from Southern Railway’s Palakkad Division to South Western Railway’s Mysuru Division, effective 1 October 2026.

This landmark shift brings Mangaluru’s railway administration under a unified regional setup with its Divisional HQ in Mysuru and Zonal HQ in Hubballi. Unifying this network resolves decades-old administrative division, drastically reduces jurisdictional friction, speeds up public grievance redressal, and accelerates regional infrastructure development.

Resolving this long standing grievance was one of my major priorities as I had visited Mangaluru in July 2024 and chaired a meeting with GM SWR, GM SR and CMD KRCL to evolve a permanent solution to the matter.

As a crucial economic and port hub for Karnataka, streamlining Mangaluru’s rail network under a common administrative jurisdiction will enhance the ease of doing business and unlock the region's full economic potential.

My heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji and Union Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji for approving this historic proposal. This decision marks a new chapter in the growth, connectivity, and overall development of coastal Karnataka!

• He was widely regarded as an exceptionally honest Chief Minister.

• In his final years, he reportedly lived in extreme hardship and even depended on students for shelter and support.

Is history repeating itself?

• West Bengal is now building a deep-sea port unlike any other such port in India.

• Once operational, it could reduce India's dependence on Sri Lanka and Singapore for maritime trade.

• It could also reduce Northeast India's dependence on Bangladesh.

• Is that why a campaign to malign Suvendu Adhikari has started?

• We admit that, for now, we have failed in our publicity and communication.

• But are we once again falling for propaganda from the Ananda Bazar group and other sections of the media?

• Are we repeating the same mistake that was allegedly made in the case of Prafulla Sen?

• History shows what happened to West Bengal after that.
